Diablo IV | Testing the beta and crossing my fingers that my PC doesn't explode. [ENG - ESP]
A few days ago I had the chance to try the Diablo IV open beta. Honestly it's not a game I was looking forward to; I know it was announced a while ago, but I had completely forgotten about it. @oldfool was the one who told me about it and reminded me that Diablo IV was close, and since we had some WoW gold, maybe we could pre-buy it with Blizzard balance, but we weren't sure.
It wasn't until then that the open beta was announced and I took the opportunity to download the game to try it out. I set Battle.net to download the content when it became available, and it did. On the 24th at 9:00 AM we could already enter the game as the servers would open. I set an alarm for that time and went to sleep. When I woke up I ran to start the game and found a BIG problem. I had to wait for a 2 hour queue to be able to play it, I guess it was too early and all the players were trying to log in. I still waited the 2 hours and with one minute left I started to warm up my hands; 1 minute.... 50 seconds... 30 seconds... 10 seconds... 1 second... "Initializing servers".... "Timed out on login, please try again".
The error forced me to close the game, so I did that and started it again. To my surprise, I had to wait another hour to log in again. This made me a bit sad, I hadn't had much rest and got up early just to test the beta. Spoiler: The same error happened again and I had to wait another hour. On the fourth try the same thing happened and I decided to quit and go to bed to try again in the afternoon-evening.
I remember that in the evening I had an hour queue, but the waiting time was decreasing much faster. I crossed my fingers that this time it would let me access and closed my eyes. I guess crossing my fingers worked. I was able to access the game and the first thing I did was start a live on discord and streamed the game to @oldfool and @therealflaws. On screen I got some presets for sound and everything else, so I left everything at default. The cinematics looked amazing, I guess Blizzard never fails when it comes to cinematics.
Something curious was happening during the cinematic, and that is the character voices were not being heard, although the rest of the sounds were. I tried to access the settings, but I guess I couldn't do it without skipping the cinematic. I had no choice and settled down to enjoy the cinematics with the guys. The quality of the animation was incredible, especially the details of the characters' eyes, it was literally a movie.
I had the opportunity to enjoy Diablo II and Diablo III, although my memories of these games are null. I don't remember much about the story, neither about the characters, but it's always about light vs. darkness (Angels vs. demons). In the official launch cinematic of Diablo IV I had already seen an incredible confrontation. It was where I met Lilith, I assumed she would be the main enemy of this installment. For some reason when I saw her for the first time I remembered the Evokers in WoW.
Back to the beta, in the cinematic we see several men searching for what looks like treasure. They make it into what appears to be a temple, but that answer is answered by someone else. "It's a door... and blood is the key." After that they died horribly. You know, before you go into anything or anywhere remember to read the terms and conditions.
There are some things that I found curious, things like a Stranger Things series reference, I couldn't capture that moment unfortunately, but it's just like this:
We also got to see Lilith being born, it's mentioned that she's someone's sister, but I don't know who it's about honestly. The guys and I were left with our mouths hanging open when the cinematic ended, it would have been great to have heard the voices, we probably would have enjoyed it a lot more.
After the introductory cinematic ends, the game kicks off and gives you to choose your character's class. The one that looked the coolest to me visually was the Druid, so I chose it without hesitation.
It took me a while to customize him, but there wasn't too much to customize, just some basic things like hair color, eyes, some things on the face and some accessories. While doing the stream on Discord I decided to record the customization of my character, but it didn't come out too well. At first the video looks fine, but then it starts to laggy. Obviously I had to cancel the stream to record, but I wanted the guys to experience it with me.

After that, another cinematic started, but it was different this time, you could already tell that the game had started. Unfortunately my PC exploded in the middle of the transmission and then I couldn't access the game without going through the queue. The funny thing is that @oldfool had already mentioned to me something about some people having overheating problems with their graphics cards when playing this game, it seems that I was a victim too.
On a serious note, the problem was not with the game, my Gpu has a small temperature problem, it's a bit old and sometimes when I play something moderately demanding, it shuts down. It seems to be that the cinematics are the most demanding part of the game, since I could play without any problem by skipping them.
I noticed that the overheating problem usually happens when I stream on Discord, which I find strange since I was able to stream the game on my Twitch channel and also on Kick without any problem. I'll leave my little Stream here in case you're interested:

Visually the game is very nice, I didn't play it at max graphics, but still the game looked pretty good. I watched a video of Diablo III to get an idea of what had improved visually, and yes, the change is VERY noticeable. I think what I enjoyed most about Diablo IV was the setting and environments. Seeing how my character's footsteps would be imprinted in the snow was very satisfying. I also liked the skills a lot.
The druid as in other games can turn into an animal if he wants to, plus he also has some magical abilities. I could see the wolf and the bear, although I didn't understand very well what the bear did, I think it allowed me to tanky a lot more in the confrontations, but I'm not sure.
When my Druid was already level 4 the game disconnected me for some reason. When I started the game again I had to wait only 5 minutes in queue and I took the opportunity to create another character to test.
I created a beautiful sorceress, and so almost like in any game, these are pretty strong. I was surprised at the range they had with their basic attacks without any extra abilities, I think you could finish the game like that.
I quite enjoyed the little bit I played, I feel like it's a game to stay in your comfy chair and relax for a while while killing demons. Although the game also has a mode for Tryhards players, basically if you die just once your character is eliminated forever, I guess each player will have their own way of playing it. I haven't played too many games of this genre, I think the ARPG game I've dedicated more hours to was Path Of Exile, so I don't think I can say if the game is really good or bad, but I can tell you that I personally liked it a lot.
I'm still not sure if I'll be able to buy it at its official release since it's a pretty expensive game and I already spent a lot of money on WoW, although I would like to buy it. I guess it will all depend on how my wallet is in June, maybe I'll decide to buy it with @oldfool, we'll see.
I don't know what else to say about the game. I mentioned that I thought it looked very nice visually, the gameplay seemed fun, almost like any other ARPG. I liked the classes, the performance of the game on my PC exceeded my expectations, I think the game has its own thing beyond being a legend.

Hace unos días tuve la oportunidad de probar la beta abierta de Diablo IV. Honestamente no es un juego que estuviese esperando; sé que se anunció hace un tiempo, pero ya lo había olvidado por completo. @oldfool fue el que me habló acerca del tema y me recordó que Diablo IV estaba cerca, y ya que nosotros teníamos algo de oro en el WoW, tal vez podíamos pre comprarlo con saldo Blizzard, pero no estábamos seguros.
Fue hasta entonces que se anunció la beta abierta y aproveché de descargar el juego para probarlo. Programé el Battle.net para que me descargase el contenido cuando estuviese disponible, y así fue. El 24 a las 9:00 AM ya podríamos entrar al juego ya que los servidores se abrirían. Programé una alarma a esa hora y me fui a dormir. Al despertar fui corriendo a iniciar el juego y me encontré con un GRAN problema. Debía de esperar una cola de 2 horas para poder jugarlo, supongo que era demasiado temprano y todos los jugadores estaban intentando acceder. Aún así esperé las 2 horas y ya cuando faltaba un minuto empecé a calentar las manos; 1 minuto... 50 segundos... 30 segundos... 10 segundos... 1 segundo... "Iniciando a los servidores"... "Se agotó el tiempo de espera al iniciar sesión, vuelve a intentarlo".
El error me obligaba a cerrar el juego, así que eso hice y volví a iniciarlo. Para mi sorpresa, debía de esperar una hora más para acceder otra vez. Esto me puso un poco triste, no había descansado demasiado y me levanté temprano solo para probar la beta. Spoiler: Sucedió el mismo error otra vez y tuve que esperar otra hora más. Al cuarto intento sucedió lo mismo y decidí dejarlo e irme a la cama para intentarlo por la tarde-noche.
Recuerdo que por la noche me marcaba una hora en cola, pero el tiempo de esperaba disminuía mucho más rápido. Crucé los dedos para que esta vez me dejase acceder y cerré los ojos. Creo que cruzar los dedos funcionó. Pude acceder al juego y lo primero que hice fue iniciar un directo en discord y le transmití el juego a @oldfool y @therealflaws. En pantalla me aparecieron algunos pre-ajustes en cuanto al sonido y todo lo demás, así que dejé todo por defecto. La cinemática se veía increíble, creo que Blizzard nunca fracasa en cuanto a cinemáticas.
Algo curioso estaba sucediendo durante la cinemática, y es las voces de los personajes no se escuchaban, aunque el resto de los sonidos si lo hacían. Intenté acceder a las configuraciones, pero creo que no podía hacerlo sin saltar la cinemática. No tuve otra opción y me tranquilicé para disfrutar la cinemática con los muchachos. La calidad de la animación fue increíble, sobre todo los detalles de los ojos de los personajes, literalmente fue una película.
Tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar Diablo II y Diablo III, aunque mis recuerdos de estos juegos son nulos. No recuerdo mucho acerca de la historia, tampoco de los personajes, pero siempre se trata de la luz contra la oscuridad(Ángeles contra demonios). En la cinemática del lanzamiento oficial de Diablo IV ya había visto un enfrentamiento increíble. Fue donde conocí a Lilith, supuse que sería el enemigo principal de esta entrega. Por alguna razón cuando la vi por primera vez recordé a los Evokers en WoW.
Ya volviendo a la beta, en la cinemática observamos a varios hombres en búsqueda de lo que parece un tesoro. Logran adentrarse en lo que parece ser un templo, pero esa respuesta es respondida por alguien más. "Es una puerta... y la sangre es la llave". Después de eso murieron horriblemente. Ya lo saben, antes de adentrarse en algo o en algún lugar recuerden leer los términos y condiciones.
Hay algunas cosas que me parecieron curiosas, cosas como una referencia de la serie Stranger Things, no pude capturar ese momento lamentablemente, pero es igual a esto:
También pudimos ver a Lilith nacer, se menciona que es la hermana de alguien, pero no sé de quién se trata honestamente. Los muchachos y yo nos quedamos con la boca abierta cuando finalizó la cinemática, hubiese sido genial haber escuchado las voces, probablemente hubiéramos disfrutado mucho más.
Después de que finaliza la cinemática introductoria, el juego da inicio y te da a elegir la clase de tu personaje. El que más genial me pareció visualmente fue el Druida, así que lo elegí sin dudarlo.
Me demoré un poco personalizándolo, pero tampoco había demasiado por personalizar, solo algunas cosas básicas como el color del cabello, los ojos , algunas cosas del rostro y algunos accesorios. Mientras hacía el stream en Discord decidí grabar la personalización de mi personaje, pero no salió demasiado bien. Al principio el vídeo se ve bien, pero luego empieza a laguearse. Obviamente debí de cancelar el Stream para grabar, pero quería que los muchachos vivieran la experiencia conmigo.

Luego de eso inició otra cinemática, pero era diferente esta vez, ya se podía notar que el juego había empezado. Lastimosamente mi PC explotó en plena transmisión y luego ya no podía acceder al juego sin pasar por la cola. Lo gracioso es que @oldfool ya me había mencionado algo acerca de que algunos estaban teniendo problemas de sobrecalentamiento con sus gráficas al jugar este juego, parece que yo fui una victima también.
Ya hablando en serio, el problema no fue del juego, mi Gpu tiene un pequeño problema de temperatura, ya está algo vieja y algunas veces cuando juego algo medianamente exigente, esta se apaga. Parece ser que las cinemáticas son lo más exigente del juego, ya que saltándome las mismas pude jugar sin ningún problema.
Noté que el problema de sobrecalentamiento suele ocurrir cuando hago streams por Discord, cosa que me parece extraña ya que pude transmitir el juego en mi canal de Twitch y también en Kick sin ningún problema. Dejaré mi pequeño Stream aquí por si te interesa:

Visualmente el juego es muy bonito, no lo jugué con los máximos gráficos, pero aún así el juego se veía bastante bien. Miré un vídeo del Diablo III para tener una idea de lo que había mejorado visualmente, y sí, el cambio es MUY notorio. Creo que lo que más disfruté de Diablo IV fue la ambientación y los escenarios. El ver como las pisadas de mi personaje se quedaban plasmadas en la nieve me parecía muy satisfactorio. Las habilidades también me gustaron muchísimo.
El druida al igual que en otros juegos puede convertirse en algún animal si lo desea, además también tiene algunas habilidades mágicas. Pude ver el lobo y el oso, aunque no entendí muy bien lo que hacía el oso, creo que me permitía tankear mucho más en los enfrentamientos, pero no estoy seguro.
Cuando mi Druida ya era nivel 4 el juego me desconectó por alguna razón. Al iniciar el juego otra vez tuve que esperar solo 5 minutos en cola y aproveché de crear otro personaje para probar sus habilidades.
Creé una preciosa hechicera, y así casi como en cualquier juego, estos están bastante fuertes. Me sorprendió el alcance que tenían con sus ataques básicos sin ninguna habilidad extra, creo que podrías pasarte el juego así.
Disfruté bastante lo poco que jugué, siento que es un juego para quedarte en tu silla cómoda y relajarte un rato mientras matas demonios. Aunque el juego también tiene su modo para jugadores Tryhards, básicamente si mueres una sola vez tu personaje es eliminado para siempre, supongo que cada jugador tendrá su forma de jugarlo. Yo no he jugado a demasiados juegos de este género, creo que el juego ARPG al que más horas le he dedicado ha sido el Path Of Exile, así que no creo poder decir si el juego es realmente bueno u malo, pero si puedo decirles que personalmente me gustó mucho.
Aún no estoy seguro de poder comprarlo en su lanzamiento oficial ya que es un juego bastante costoso y ya gasté lo suyo en el WoW, aunque si me gustaría comprarlo. Supongo que todo dependerá del cómo esté mi billetera el mes de Junio, tal vez decida comprarlo junto a @oldfool, ya veremos.
Ya no sé que más decir del juego. Mencioné que me pareció muy bonito visualmente, el gameplay me pareció divertido, casi como cualquier otro ARPG. Me gustaron las clases, el rendimiento del juego en mi PC superó mis expectativas, creo que el juego tiene lo suyo más allá de ser una leyenda.

I honestly thought I would have a harder time playing it seeing how complicated it was at first, but then accessing it was pretty easy and an update fixed my problem with the character voices. I think the Druid is too cool, though maybe if I ever get around to buying the game I'll go for the nicromancer.

Eso de el tiemp ode conexion que tardaste unas dos horas ya habia visto muchas personas quejarse de eso, imagino que como es una beta es normal pero aun asi es bastante fastidioso debieron preveer eso, por otra parte las cinematicas de Blizzard son una AUTENTICA BELLEZA, que provoca verlas una y otra vez, en eso nunca fallan.
xD y lo de tu grafica me recordo a mi con mi tostadora hace unos años atras cuando intentaba jugar cosas simples simplemente no podia RIP mi antigua pc.

The connection time that took about two hours, I had already seen many people complain about that, I imagine that since it is a beta it is normal but even so it is quite annoying, they should have foreseen that, on the other hand, the Blizzard cinematics are an AUTHENTIC BEAUTY, that causes to see them over and over again, in that they never fail.
xD and your graph reminded me of my toaster a few years ago when I was trying to play simple things I just couldn't RIP my old pc.

Well, it's a beta with a lot of players trying to get in, I guess it's normal for that to happen. The good thing is that at night I was able to play pretty quietly. Blizzard always makes movies, it would be great to have a series or movie of Diablo made by them. To me the problem happens with not so simple games, but it doesn't affect me so much at the moment.
Bueno, es una beta con muchos jugadores intentando entrar, supongo que es normal que eso pasara. Lo bueno es que por la noche pude jugar bastante tranquilo. Blizzard siempre hace películas, sería genial tener una serie o película propia hecha por ellos de Diablo. A mi el problema me ocurre con juegos no tan simples, pero ya no me afecta tanto de momento.
Hopefully when the game comes out completely I can try it :) and the queue time is not so long. xD Since what they did with the new wow expansion I fell in love with Blizzard cinematics
I had my doubts about D4 but after playing the beta I've already went and pre-ordered it. I'm gonna be sucked into it so bad when it releases.
Thank goodness the beta is out. I really want to buy it, but it will depend on my wallet at the end of the month. I'm sure the game will suck you in.

My goodness what stunning graphics for my eyes, I must confess that I was a long time watching gameplays after your review and ended up forgetting to post my comment, however to summarize and I do not need to write the whole text again I love this view a little isometric and thank the developers do not think to change this and make a skirym of life with Dlc, thanks for sharing this amazing game, had another user who shared about but I did not understand much.
