part II. Why?

Most of those who responded to the first part (and this is approximately 100500 people) ask why the new game is called No. 8!/8.

It's a trade secret, but I'll answer.

There are now 960 starting positions in standard chess, and everyone at random likes it. But one has only to be interested, why is it so little, show the formula or the fingers on which they counted, how the veil of mystery falls. In wikipedia and other nests of references, they write clearly and understandably "if you do not comply with Fisher's restrictions, options come out up to 25 million, fucked". I thought that I have a spare year of life, and counted them for you manually. 5040 came out with a standard ancient set of figures; coped faster, in a couple of minutes. Because wikipedias are bullshitting, and the rest copy even numbers without getting into it.

• 8!/8 is the most symbolic of the laconic records of this number.

But you can write "bughouse-5thousand" for weak-calculating friends, Allah cares.
