Millions of people still gather at the National Zoo
Crowds of visitors at the gate of the zoo
On Thursday, the third day of Eid, more than one lakh visitors gathered at the National Zoo in Mirpur. After visiting the zoo, 31 people, including children, were separated from their families. Later, the family got them back with the help of zoo authorities.
This information was given by the curator and acting director of the national zoo in the first light this evening. Mojibur Rahman. He said that even today the number of visitors is more than one lakh but yesterday it was a little less than Wednesday.
According to the zoo authorities, about 35,000 visitors gathered at the zoo on the day of Eid. On the second day of Eid this number was much more than one lakh. Visiting the zoo this afternoon, one can see the crowd of visitors along the one kilometer road from the front of the zoo to the Ryan open junction. Several temporary entrances have been made with bamboo to cope with the pressure of visitors. And the main gate has been opened to get out.

The visitors had to suffer due to overcrowding. Eight members of three families from Keraniganj of the capital came to visit the zoo. One of them, Humayun Kazi, said, The crowd is as much inside as it is outside the zoo. It didn't look good for so many people, so I left without seeing much.
Another of them, Israt Jahan, said the inside of the zoo was very dirty. The inside of the khachar is also dirty. The smell was coming out of the cage. The condition of the animals was not very good, they seemed sick.

20-25 people came from Kalai upazila of Joypurhat to visit the zoo. One of them, Tajma, said, ‘Come to see the zoo. More people. Not going to stay with the kids. That’s why I’m coming out early. ’Tajma’s daughter Maryam Akhtar says she likes tigers, bears, deer, crocodiles a lot.
Leaseholder Ride Trading has hired additional ticket checkers to handle Eid visitors. A ticket checker by the name of Nurul Amin said, I came in at 8 am today and saw that the front of the zoo was full of people. The gate of the zoo was opened at 9 in the morning. The day of Eid was a little less crowded. There was a huge crowd yesterday. Lots of crowds today, but less than yesterday. There may be another crowd tomorrow, Friday.
