She initiated and founded many hospitals, nursing homes and homes for the poor. She also contributed to the development of science and culture in Poland at the time. ** Queen Jadwiga was canonized by the Catholic Church in 1997 and informally named one of the patron saints of our country.

Królowa Polski od 1384 do 1399r. Była pierwszą, w historii królową Polski, a jednocześnie jedną z najważniejszych postaci Polski i Litwy. Po śmierci swojego ojca Ludwika Węgierskiego, w wieku 9 lat została wyznaczona na królową. Znana była ze swojej pobożności, dobroci, zaangażowania charytatywnego oraz pomocy biednym. Na rewersie przedstawiona jest głowa kobieta, ze wzrokiem skierowanym w lewą stronę. Ową kobietą jest Królowa Jadwiga. Ma założoną chustę, a na chuście koronę królewską. Nad głową, od środka do połowy monety są umieszczone źdźbła zbóż. Po lewej stronie widnieje napis, oznajmiający czyj wizerunek widnieje na monecie - "KRÓLOWA JADWIGA".
