HOW PROFITABLE IS POULTRY FARM BUSINESS?

Generally, farming in general either crop or livestock farming, there is much profit in it if one is able to deal with the risk attached to the business. I wouldn't go far before agreeing to fact that farming business in general is highly profitable. So going further to talk about how profitable poultry farming is, should be one of an agreeable term. How do you know someone is making profit from a business? It's very simple, by seeing such person sticking to that particular business for a very long time.

How profitable is poultry farm business?

Poultry farming business is a business is a business of number and time. The amount of birds you can rear for a particular period of time. You may decide to rear 50 Broiler birds that would consume 7 to 8 bags of feed for maximum of 7 weeks. In this period, time and number have been stated which is attached to the particular amount of profit that one would realise during period. Of course, when a business is not paying off, the next thing is to abandon the business completely and try something.

Let me put it in simple term, if you rear 50 birds that consume about N120,000($288) and considering the current market you are liable to make atleast N80,000($182) "IF" there is no mortality or whatsoever before they are harvested. Just roll on the calculation with the number of birds reared (100 birds with N240,000 expenses and so on). This is just a simple analysis on how profitable poultry farm business is.
