When I started this poultry farm business,I had my sales pattern documented. This means the pattern in which I wanted to follow was rearing my birds for 6 weeks,lay some or half off and then the 7th week I sell the rest. That was the initial agreement I had statement to follow so that I will have chance to do rotation policy. Before i am done with a batch,another batch are already on ground. But recently I got myself carried away with selling my birds for festive period. After test running this pattern of sales I observed that it does not really pay and there are lot of things attach to it.

Two of the negative things attached to rearing of birds for more than 7 weeks are stated below....

• It waste time and energy. The time are venturing on rearing your birds to 8 to 9 weeks,the time can used to venture into rearing new set of birds.

• It chop some of what should be your gain. I have realized that, what you feed your birds is the result you will get. If you rear birds for 6 weeks, they have got certain bag of feeds to consume and that is the result they produce. Same goes to rearing birds for 10 weeks,they consume more feeds and still produce the same result and gain as when you rear birds for weeks.

New pattern of sales

Right now I am going back to my old pattern of putting my birds on sales. Rear them for 6 weeks,sell half and sell the rest after 7 weeks. I don't want to rear birds more than 7 weeks anyone. It's time wasting and consume part of my gain in the long run.
