On the second of August I started my #maizechallenge2022 was initiated by Comrade @felixxx . I started mine late because I had issue getting a piece to engage in the challenge. But starting late is now becoming a blessing for me because my initial fear was for how long will this raining season last. But to my greatest surprise it has been raining since the second half of raining season started around that middle of August.

A lot of developments have happened.

Some of the development that have happened within 2 months are:-

  • Some of the maize plants now have massive height.

  • Some of the maize plant have grown tassel.

  • The female maize are having silk air style.

  • This is one of the negative Development, some of the maize plants have fell because of heavy rain with heavy wind blow. This happened to maize plants that their roots are not strong.

I can relate to maize falling because of wind and all that... I'm glad there are others standing and growing adequately. I'm coming for roasted ones by November hahah

Hi @peterale
I feel it is incredible to have some land where you can grow your own crop your own food.
Your Maize plants have shaped quite well despite the rains that hurt the crop.
Hope you have a good harvest.
Are you growing some vegetables too ?
I have tried growing a couple of things Tomatoes- sometimes they come but often they are attacked by a lot of aphids.
I did manage to grow a couple of lemon trees though they are yet to give me some fruits.
Basil leaves , onions , turmeric , potatoes- these just did fine for me
Your plants inspire me to grow more.

@peterale
Your own grown veggies taste a 100 times better then any market bought ones.
For me it is a little terrace garden where I managed to grow. Next time I have some thing ready I would surely share.
I am working on some soil less gardening with coco peat and planning on a aeroponic system lets see how it goes. Just being putting it off for quite some time.
All your greens inspire me to get back to it :)
Good luck buddy
