Christmas Eve in my home

.Hello everyone, the Christmas break has begun.
I will share a very old tradition from my country, Bulgaria.
Christmas Eve is a solemn evening and a night of prayers for the New Year.
The whole Christian world celebrates the birth of Christ on this "HOLY" night.
The night of December 24 that brings family members together in their homes. All over the world my countrymen are going home to their homes, so tradition dictates.
Only family members attend the holiday dinner, no outsiders.
The dishes that are served are lean, without meat, they are an odd number.. The hostess of each home prepares them with much love and care. this is the end of the Christmas fast.
New Year's decorations are made and bought presents are placed under the tree.
Traditionally on the table there is: ritual bread with a coin thatis placed in the bread . Traditional salads prepared in different ways are served, and for the main course - cabbage serma and stuffed red peppers.

Before dinner, the home is again consecrated with incense taken from the church for health. The ritual bread is broken by the oldest person in the family.
The first piece of ritual bread is left for the home. the rest is for the family members. it is fun and exciting how everyone looks for a coin in their piece of bread. The coin is also a symbol of health and prosperity.

This year the coin fell into the piece of ritual bread called for my home. apparently God has decided that everyone in my home needs Health in this complicated world situation. God always gives us what we need at the right time. He gives it to us in different ways - signs we sometimes don't notice, caught up in the daily hustle and bustle. i can only thank him and say Amen!
The coin will be donated to St. Mary's Church!

Christmas Eve is a celebration of family.A tradition that preserves the Bulgarian nation as a people.
