Hello,
As the New Year approaches, many people look forward to the first day of January - St. Basil's Day.

I have a friend who bears this name - Veselina.
This is an occasion to make a gesture of attention to her.
I have prepared a surprise gift for her!

Every woman loves flowers, I bought her a live cyclamen, and since she is a good housewife, I also added original household trays.
Other name days are coming, and with them the invitations from friends and colleagues who invite us to visit them to celebrate together.

It is a time when we can have fun, make new friends and eat good food.
We often think of holidays as one or two days. There are actually many different holidays that people can celebrate in January.

A name day is a celebration of a saint and a person who bears the same name. It is celebrated on the feast of this saint.
In many countries, it is customary to celebrate one's own name day by receiving gifts from family and friends, organizing a party to which guests are invited.
Name days are celebrated by different cultures with different traditions, but they all have one thing in common – joy and happiness.
In my country Bulgaria there are many name days in January which are marked in the calendar as holidays.

Name days are celebrated in this month, here are the biggest ones
from them:

  • January 1 - St. Basil's Day
  • January 6 - Yordanov
  • January 7 - Ivanov
All people bearing the names of these saints who celebrate on these days receive congratulations from friends, colleagues and relatives - they receive gifts and congratulations!
    Happy Holidays to all!

Hola,

Those flowers are very pretty. I don't remember celebrating name days when I was growing up. I guess that's not something that is common here in the USA. There were church feast days but that was about it. And I went to Catholic grade school and high school so we went to Mass on feast days.
