"A World of My Own"

Yesterday the sky was black
I was in my own world
Gone where all my questions came from
No one left to answer

For me, who? Say what?
Now that I'm in the city lights
There's a passion for life in these factories smog filled with air
That I find can also bring my past memories with it as well

I'll wander far past these forgotten streets and alleyways
Yes, the city lights are calling me back
When you smell the perfume of pine and mist from the sky
When you hold my hand and I toil in your radiance

And we take back what has been stolen
You live on
See it in your eyes and in the stars above us
Time is ours now, let it be ours

As the sun goes down you and I disappear
Can barely see the light that comes into my life but it's there
Out of nowhere one day as unexpected as it sounds
I can feel nature around me

And all my worries are erased
Breathing in air with each single raindrop
No, I won't go back; It's always enough to chase the shadows away
And though I may never be loved fully enough
I do believe there is one love that's bigger than all that combined…
