The big old hairy bee is back?
It was more than a week ago when I started taking photos of the bees that visit our backyard. The challenge was that I don't have a camera & lens that is actually fit for macrophotography. The outcome that I get are a result of zooming into the full image and then crop it to the extent to which the subject is clearly visible with all its details. Of course, it's not a perfect macro shot but it's good enough to see details beyond what our naked eyes could see. That's the advantage of using a camera with full-frame sensor and a good quality lens. About my camera... I've been using it for 6 years and so I'm noticing some artefacts on some portion of the images that it produced recently. I had to manually remove the artefacts in post production before I do my usual editing on the photos.
Even though I had some troubles with my camera, I'm still happy with the results that I got for you today 😊🐝
About my subject, I've been following these bees as they visit our backyard almost everyday. There are a lot of bees that visit our backyard on a regular basis and among all of them... there is a particular bee that is relatively bigger and much older among them. It is recognizable because of its size and its prominent looks. This particular bee has more hair and it's more yellow than the rest of the bees that visits our backyard. Let me show you...
This is the big and hairy bee...
While this is how the rest of the bees look like...
There's a distinction when it comes to their color and built. The big one looks more agressive than the other bee. The big one also shows dominance against the other bees as it tries to push them away of the flowers that it wants to go to.
i've seen people with macro lenses taking worse shots then this :) so no complaining on the crops here . they look very good voor zoomlens.
