Carara National Park, Universal access trail. Costa Rica
The universal access trail of the Carara National Park was inaugurated in 2013 in order to provide the opportunity for people with disabilities to learn more about being the wonders of the tropical forest.
The 1200-meter route is wide and flat, 100% of the path is made of concrete and along the way you can find viewpoints, informational signs, restrooms and security areas.
The experience is fantastic, during the tour it is easy to observe the great diversity of flora and fauna of a tropical rain forest, such as scarlet macaws, poisonous green frogs, morpho butterflies and monkeys.
The inclusive Carara trail has served as inspiration for the development of new projects, such as the one in Santa Rosa National Park.

En sendero de acceso universal del parque nacional Carara se inauguró en el 2013 con la finalidad de brindar la oportunidad a las personas con discapacidad de conocer más de ser las maravillas del bosque tropical.
El recorrido de 1200 metros es amplio y plano, el 100% del sendero esta hecho en concreto y a lo largo del camino se pueden encontrar miradores, rótulos informativos, baños y zonas de seguridad.
La experiencia es fantástica, durante el recorrido es fácil observar la gran diversidad de flora y fauna de un bosque e tropical lluvioso, como las lapas rojas, ranitas verdes venenosas, mariposas morpho y monos.
El sendero inclusivo de Carara ha servido de inspiración para el desarrollo de nuevos proyectos, como el del Parque Nacional Santa Rosa.

Es maravilloso como el parque nacional Carara ha pensado en las personas con discapacidad, eso es inclusivo y de esta manera todos tenemos el acceso a estos sitios naturales tan maravillosos. Me encantaron tus fotografías se puede ver qué es un sitio muy hermoso dónde la naturaleza te trae calma. Un abrazo desde Colombia.
Hola gracias por tu comentario, los senderos inclusivos son un gran logro y aunque tardaron mucho tiempo en desarrollarse, poco a poco van apareciendo nuevas opciones (para este momento son cuatro) Vivimos en países privilegiados por la naturaleza en donde es importante participar a la mayor cantidad de personas para que conozcan, se apropien y se unan a la protección de nuestros bosques.
