Freshers &THE STRUGGLE TO FEEL BELONG

Secondary school is a lot easier, even our extremely introvert can find a friend on her first day in school.
But university is different, sometimes it’s even hard for the extroverted people to make a good friend on their first week.
Why?

On our first week in school, most of us are always on our guard,I mean, who wouldn’t be after we must have been fed by friends, family, story books and movies about the kind of things university students and lecturers do in the university. The advice is always too much to forget in one semester.

So when we have admission,we start having some certain fears about campus life.
We quickly decide on taking time to choose friends,we plan to study hard and end our first year with 5.0 CGPA.
With all these thoughts in our mind,we longed for friends but ??

A lot of us are capable of making a lot of friends on our first two weeks, though some tends to change those friends even before second semester—this is important if you notice your friends will get you involve in things you wouldn’t be proud of😊

Also, some of us can still stay a full semester without loosening up for friendship ,is not that we don’t want to but we aren’t just used to chatting with people we barely know.So we need someone special,we want to feel important and comfortable to one or two person.

However, while some do this very unconsciously some do it consciously, the later want to pass through school but doesn’t want school to pass through him,at the end we look back and realize that friendship and social life matters.

Don’t get me wrong, everybody is our friend—everybody cannot be our friend, there’s a need to choose wisely.
No man is an island,we need friends to share our joy with,we need a shoulder to lean on when things go wrong.

I took these pictures on my matric day. Some students were very lonely to the extent they couldn’t smile nor take group photos. I was worried at first because because I thought something happened or they missed their money, phone ,any important item.
I found out later that they are not just happy, they felt they have no one to talk to,play and take pictures with. One of my course mate told me her friend left her to play with another person.hmmm.

So I decided to write this piece together with the photos as my entry to the @monomad challenge.

Thanks for reading down to this point. I appreciate.
