What I don't like Doing On The Weekend —Weekend Engagement #180

I grew up in a family where weekends were all about cleaning, laundry, and shopping. This is because it was the only time when everyone was home, there was no school for us, and no official work for my parents.

I loved this moment because it was fun running around the house with my siblings while we worked.

As I grew up and started living alone, I made it a point to cherish and pamper my weekends, making sure they were stress-free.

Now, talking about the things I don't like doing on weekends.

First, it's going for lectures.

I have a lecturer who never teaches on weekdays and always reschedules his classes for Saturdays.
It's really annoying because there's nothing we can do about it.
He knows students won't miss his class because it's a practical course that carries ten marks for each practical session. So, I have to wake up early on Saturdays to attend his 8 am class.

He was reported to the Head of Department (HOD), who asked him to try and schedule his class on weekdays. But guess what? He did it yesterday.

I have five friends, and another thing I don't like doing on weekends is inviting them over to my house.

Some people might find this strange, but I don't enjoy having my small room noisy and crowded when I'm supposed to be resting, unwinding, and recharging myself for the new week.

Going to school every day feels like a race, so on weekends, I take some time to relax and recharge, just like an athlete refuels with glucose.

The last on my list is doing numerous house chores on the weekend. I plan my week in such a way that I have little to nothing to do on weekends.
That is to say that Saturday and Sunday are my lazy days where I do very little work and spend the remaining hours in bed and in the kitchen.

I love preparing special breakfasts on Saturdays and Sundays, just to eat something different from the rush-through meals I have during the weekdays.

It is also on Sunday that I really have the time to talk at length with my distant family and friends.
