Yesterday was definitely a different day, we attended a small art exhibition that was taking place in one of the shopping centers in the neighboring city. I sincerely loved being there, the different paintings, colors and motifs of the works, give it an extremely charming point.

Pablo Cabrera, the painter artist, was an elderly man full of joy and kindness. I felt that the man really did what he liked, the enthusiasm that he conveyed when talking about the works and the stories behind them, was authentic.

From my side, it was the first time I attended an event of this type, I was very fascinated and encouraged. The artistic sense has always caught my attention, the compositions and textures are a point that have moved my fibers.

Artist Inspiration:

Behind each work, there is a thought...

IMG_20220903_163444607.jpg

I have always considered that this is the case, the various palpable artistic contexts are born or evolve from an initial thought. Sometimes, it is not a full thought, but rather an emotion that the artist or creator releases through his gift (Yes, it is a gift that grows with patience, love, perseverance and dedication).

On this occasion, the artist reports that some of his works were inspired by cave paintings of warriors in different contexts. This type of art does not carry or highlight in itself a religious or spiritual meaning, nor an emotional one. Rather, he was rather looking for the recreation of typical environments that men of those times were faced with, activities such as hunting and more. From the hunting side, there is a large section of information to navigate, emphasizing that this was one of the most important activities in the Mesolithic-Paleolithic and Neolithic periods.

Hunting in this era, which is also known as the "Stone Age", represented the first livelihood of men, the only way to bring food to homes and keep families alive. At that time, men developed weapons such as "bows and spears", which they used to kill beasts at long range. The creation of these types of weapons significantly reduced "hand-to-hand" contact and thus lowered death numbers.

The weapons of that era are among the most rudimentary because they were made mainly of carved stone, but they were the focus of the beginning. The men of this Mesolithic era were based on hunting, but as the eras transitioned, a producing culture was also established.

The different studies of our past suggest that beyond just weapons, there was already a creative and registered thought. There the birth of the cave works that men drew in the caves, representations of different activities of their lives, including religious rites and other cultural expressions.
