Investigation of Baron's Activity.

Leaving the Island safe house behind, I made my way toward the monument while dodging infected along the train tracks. Upon reaching the target area, I took down a toxin-spitting infected, picked off enemies with my bow, and lured a horde into an explosive gas cylinder trap.

I was still at the safe house on Island when 8:00 in the morning rolled around. It felt like the perfect time to pick up my journey where I had paused it, continuing my investigation into Baron's activity near the monument.

Discovering a zipline that stretched from the tower toward the town, I used it to make a fast, easy exit off the small island.

I had a clear idea of where to head next, which made planning my path straightforward. Looking for the quickest route, I realized that crossing the bridge or swimming underneath it was the closest and safest option to reach the monument.

I leaped down from a ledge, as I planned to land on top of an infected standing directly below me, sending him who fell on the railroad tracks.

Without waiting for him to get back up, I sprinted across the top of a train car. A female infected managed to follow me up onto the roof, but she could not catch me as long as I kept moving forward.

Because she proved so persistent in her pursuit, I finally stopped on a high ledge and kicked her straight off the edge, sending her to a miserable death below.

Other infected were trying to climb up toward my position as well, but they moved far too slowly to pose a threat, so I simply ignored them. I continued leaping across platforms to bypass the horde, as the entire surrounding area was crawling with infected.

Approaching the monument, I saw zombies covering the entire perimeter, forcing me to plan my next move carefully. Seeing no alternative route, I relied on speed, sprinting and jumping through the crowd to push past them.

As I was near the monument to investigate Baron's operations, a specialized infected began spitting toxins in my direction. Recognizing him as a major threat, I closed the distance and attacked him immediately.

While taking him down, I noticed several boosters scaling the high ground to reach me. I stood my ground, waiting for them to reach the top before slaying them one by one.

Wanting to clear out more of the crowd before starting my investigation, I drew my hunter's bow and began picking off infected with precise headshots.

To thin out the numbers even faster, I decided to play a trick on them by luring a group toward a cluster of explosives. The horde nearly swarmed me during the setup, taking a huge chunk of my health, but I managed to scramble back to safety on high ground and patch my wounds with a bandage.

Once the zombies gathered around the gas cylinders as planned, I threw an explosive knife into the tank. The resulting blast wiped out a massive group of infected all at once, executing my plan perfectly.
