Safe Zone on Recreation Island Tower.

Unable to enter a locked building, I searched the roof and tried blowing the door with a gas cylinder before giving up due to approaching nightfall.

Heading for the Recreation Island Tower safe zone, I fought an infected soldier, killed a toxic vomiter, navigated rope jumps, and restored the power.

Attempting to gain entry to the target building, I found the primary entrance locked tight from the inside, forcing me to search for an alternative route. Spotting some handholds, I scaled my way up to the roof to check for an overhead entrance.

Standing on top of the structure, I scanned the roofline but couldn't find any hidden skylights or hatchways leading inside. Moving to the rear edge to survey the back side, I looked down to see a swarm of infected milling around the foundation.

Realizing I needed to clear the threat before continuing my search, I picked up a gas cylinder, ignited the valve, and hurled it directly at the rear gate. The improvised explosive failed to breach the barrier, leaving the infected trapped inside and the doors completely sealed.

With the clock ticking past 2:30 p.m., I decided to abandon the attempt altogether. Knowing that nightfall was approaching fast and bringing lethal Volatiles out into the streets, I prioritized securing a nearby safe zone instead.

Tucking my weapons away, I set a course for the Recreation Island Tower nearby. Along the way, I spotted an infected individual still wearing a military soldier's uniform, raising my hopes that he might be carrying a key access card.

I rushed the military infected and cut him down quickly, but a surrounding pack of biters forced me to clear the immediate area before I could search the corpse. Disappointingly, a quick search of his gear yielded no access card whatsoever.

Leaving the body behind, I made a final push toward the base of the tower, slicing through the remaining infected guarding the lower perimeter. One stubborn, mutated infected remained positioned on an elevated platform, repeatedly spitting streams of toxic vomit down at my position.

I dodged the acid, scrambled up the scaffolding, and unleashed a rapid combination of melee attacks until I completely beheaded him.

To reach the upper section of the tower, I had to execute a tricky traversal sequence, leaping off the ledge to swing across a pair of hanging ropes in mid-air.

Landing successfully on the far platform, I made my way to the highest deck and kicked down a emergency ladder to create a permanent shortcut for future visits.

Reaching the breaker box, I flipped the main switch to restore power, officially establishing a secure safe spot right near the Town Hall before settling in to rest until morning as it was almost 5 in the afternoon.

I'll show what happens next later.

I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.

This is Pikachuuuuu signing off. Over and out.

Giving up around 2:30 p.m. was probably the smartest decision. In Dying Light, wasting the afternoon trying to solve one locked door and then getting caught outside after dark would've been a terrible trade.

I could scavenge for more times but I didn't want to take chances as I was already inside a safe zone.

That beheading after dodging all the toxic attacks looked seriously satisfying. The vomiter probably thought the high ground made him untouchable, then you simply climbed up and ended the problem.

I liked that you opened up the emergency ladder instead of just treating the tower as a one-time destination. Future visits should be be much easier after that little bit of preparation. But, I hope the infected in this game doesn't know how to climb ladders.

The regular infected doesn't know how to climb a ladder but there are some who can jump higher and who can climb anything I guess. Though they shouldn't be able to climb up a safe zone as it should have EV lights activated.
