The Jump to Survive.

I took a truck from the power plant to drive toward the town hall. A swarm of infected caused the truck to burst into flames, forcing me to leap off a bridge right before it exploded. Swimming clear, I boarded a nearby military convoy searching for ammunition and an access card.

I decided to head toward the town hall to check on the sheriff and the rest of the group. To make the journey safely, I used overhead electrical wires to zipline across the district, landing near the power plant where a truck had been left behind.

Since it was already nearly nine in the morning, I started the engine immediately, plowing past a few infected as I pulled out onto the main road. A booster infected sprinted straight into my path, and I ran him down.

Wanting to preserve the truck's durability for the long haul, I did my best to steer cleanly along the highway, actively avoiding the roaming crowds on the route.

As I approached the town hall approach, another booster leaped onto the rear of the truck. Seconds later, a line tore beneath the frame, leaking fuel across the engine block and causing the vehicle to stall.

A vomiter positioned along the road immediately doused the stalled vehicle in corrosive spit, attracting a massive horde that surrounded the truck. As the infected pounded against the bodywork, flames burst from under the hood.

Knowing the truck was seconds away from exploding, I scrambled out of the truck and jumped over the edge of the bridge into the water below.

The truck detonated directly above me, the shockwave hitting me in mid-air as burning infected tumbled over the railing into the river alongside me.

I surfaced in the water, bruised but alive. A few dead infected fell beside me. Spotting an abandoned military convoy parked along the bridge span ahead, I decided to climb up to check the vehicles for spare ammunition.

I swam to the shore and ran back to the bridge that looked thin of infected as most of them died from the explosion. I immediately took down a distracted infected from behind with a stealth kill.

A second zombie charged from behind, forcing me to draw my melee weapon and swing violently to clear the path.

Moving through the wreckage, I was surprised to find that the immediate perimeter around the main transport was completely clear of hostiles.

I approached the rear doors of the military truck, but a digital lock blocked the handle. Realizing I needed a security pass to open the doors, I began searching the surrounding area for a fallen soldier who might still have the access card.
