My Shy But Sweet Orange Boy

this is my other cat my orange boy who acts like he is too cool for everyone at first glance. when visitors come he will hide in the farthest corner or sit high up where no one can reach him. He never runs to greet people like my other pets do so many think he is grumpy or does not like company.

he is very suplado indeed. if you try to call him or reach out too fast he will step back and look at you like you are being too much. he takes his time trusting and he never forces himself to be friendly just because someone is watching. he likes his own space and he likes to decide when he wants to be close never the other way around.

but once he lets you in he is the softest most loving friend i have. When it is just us at home no strangers around he will quietly walk over and curl up right beside my feet. he will lean his whole weight against my leg or rest his head on my hand like he is saying “i am safe here with you.”

he does not meow loud or jump around to get attention. instead he shows he cares in small ways waiting by the door when i go out sleeping just outside my room at night or giving slow gentle licks when i pet him. he does not give his affection freely but when he does it is all real.

it took me a while to understand him. i used to think he did not like me until i learned that his shyness is not rudeness. he just feels things deeply and only gives his heart to people who will wait for it.

now i know being suplado is just his way of being careful. under that quiet guarded look is a cat who loves quietly stays loyal and turns into a soft purring ball of warmth when it is just the two of us.
