A Random Jump into the Heart of Paris with Meta Quest 3
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to instantly teleport to the vibrant streets of Paris? I put on the Meta Quest 3 headset and tried doing just that—exploring the city completely at random without any planned itinerary.
Virtual Paris, Real Sensations
Instead of a typical guided tour, I picked a random location and instantly found myself in the picturesque Latin Quarter (Quartier Latin), right on the famous Rue de la Huchette. All around me were iconic Parisian buildings, colorful restaurants, crêperies, souvenir shops, and the classic red awnings and neon signs.
Thanks to the advanced mixed and virtual reality technology, the experience felt amazingly realistic—pedestrians walking by, cobblestone paths, and detailed architecture created the genuine feeling of standing right in the middle of Paris.
Freely Exploring the Street Life
The real charm of this kind of exploration is the ability to fully immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of the city. I was able to stroll past outdoor cafes, check out local clothing and souvenir displays, and explore the hidden corners of old city streets.
Stepping just a bit further down, the narrow street opens up toward larger avenues near the Seine river, offering striking views of grand Parisian structures, bridges, and city traffic.
How Does It Feel?
• Total Immersion: The architectural details, street lighting, and lively surrounding atmosphere give you the feel of a real trip without needing a plane ticket.
• Boundless Exploration: You can instantly transition from quiet, narrow historical alleyways out onto broad boulevards or along the riverbank.
• A New Dimension of Travel: The technology allows us to do more than just view cities on a screen—we can experience them in near life-sized scale.
Virtual travel with devices like the Meta Quest 3 is becoming a completely different experience—it's no longer just a static viewing session, but a real adventure!
Would you take a random stroll through Paris in VR? Let me know in the comments! 👇✨

That looks really cool! I want to try that too 🤩. You can literally visit your favorite places. I want to go to Japan and Italy with that.
In just a few years, we won't need to leave home to explore the entire world. We will see and physically feel that we are actually there. It’s only a matter of time.
That is frighteningly true, but what would be the fun of not going to these places in person? I mean, where's the real adventure?
Well, some people might (especially for financial reasons, I think) this new kind of "exploring the world" thing.
That's ULTRA Amazing! The meta quest is on my bucket list, but I've prioritized a tablet cause I've heard that people usually don't use it very often and the battery is small too. I would use it to watch movies on a huge screen... However to visit places or even use it to plan a travel before hand is very interesting.
Being able to travel the world without ever leaving home is such an amazing experience.
Perhaps one day, we’ll be able to live our entire lives in a virtual world, and eventually achieve digital immortality.
I had a look at the video and it looks like VR experience you had was amazing. Does it cost if one need to have this kind of an VR experience. I did like to explore.. Thank you for sharing your VR travel experience in Paris... Good day...Cheers
Looks like google maps but in real life. But maybe not exactly real because this is in virtual reality. ✨
Really interesting! You can in that way explore the whole world without leaving your home! 🤠
I thought the same, haha!
In the future, people will also move in the environment

We’d love to take a virtual stroll through Paris in VR! But as luck would have it, one of our team members is actually in Europe on vacation and gets to experience it in person!
I'm eager to try one of those out. You seem to be having a lot of fun with it.
That video looks soooo realistic, somebody wouldn't be able to tell the difference if not for the text on screen. It looks like some Solo Leveling stuff. Lol
One of the many places I'll love to see with this VR is Japan. I love Japan soo much. I'll love to see what it looks like in VR.
Were those pictures taken from the VR?
Such an amazing VR experience you had, @planetoceana. Sometimes, technology really is an indispensable tool to society (it just needs to be used more effectively, as in cases like the one you brought up).
Congratulations!
