Foodie got a job interview
Did I forget to mention this?
I think I did! I think I did forget to mention I got a job interview!
I wrote last week that I sent in a job application. I haven't heard back from them yet. I did, however, write an e-mail to another company about another job, telling them I kinda liked their job opening, but I was afraid of the 'application management' part of the job. I don't want to head into that direction anymore. I want to focus more on business processes. They called me back and after a long chat, I was assured that it would only be a small part of the job and far from the technical side of applications. Phew!
So I sent in my letter and resumé to that place the very same day, because it was almost closing. They were happy, I was happy, I have an interview on friday.
This job would be for 24 hours, which is perfect for me. It's a little further away than I'd like, but closer than the other one I applied to. Besides, I'm hoping to be able to work from home some days, so I shouldn't have to drive more than a few times a week.
The job is focused on HR processes, which I already have some experience in. I don't know any of the applications they're using, so I'll have to learn those. That shouldn't be a problem though. They need someone who's able to understand all of the processes and keep an overview of them and the applications, knowing when a change on one side will have unwanted effects on another side.
I think this will be a good opportunity for me to move away from application management, because honestly, I never should have been headed in that direction in the first place. That was a silly move I made in my previous job search.
You live and you learn!
