Foodie's got a new job

It turns out, there was no need for another meeting. I got the job offer through call and e-mail.

I think I summed that up neatly in just a few sentences! Guess I'm done blogging for the day.

Playfulfoodie

Alright, I'll elaborate.

So! It's not the youth health care place. They still hadn't gotten back to me. It's the job at the school, or college, or 'university of applied sciences', is what most of these 'HBO' schools call themselves internationally. So confusing with all of the different school systems in the world.

Anyway, their recruiter called me yesterday, told me they wanted to give me the job offer, we talked about the pay and about all of the extra perks and vacation days and such. After that, she called my future manager about the pay I asked for and then she e-mailed me the job offer. All I had to do was read through it and get back to her through e-mail to accept the offer!

I accepted the offer and now all I have to do is wait for the HR department to ask me for additional information and wait until the first of june, because that's when I start.

The job seems really interesting and the people so far have been very kind and enthusiastic. The perks are pretty nice too! Lots of vacation days, because it's in the school sector, so that's around 10 weeks of vacation. On campus, they have sports facilities, and I get to choose between fitness and swimming. I'm so happy to be able to swim there!

I'm curious to see how I'll do with working 32 hours, but I will eventually be able to work from home half of the time and hubby will do the driving. Combined with a nice amount of vacation days, I might just be okay. It helps that the job seems to be very fitting for me and my co-workers so far seem nice and fun.

I wrote to the youth health care people that I'm no longer available, so now, I'm just going to enjoy my free time for the rest of the month and be excited about next month! It will be pretty nice to earn some extra money again.

Nice work !LADY !!

What's the role exactly? I ask because I'm re-entering the world of education of young people and realised that the job I took is waaaay too intense for me and not what I was after. I'm looking for other options and actively brainstorming! Can you tell me more about the role? If you feel comfortable doing so? I'd !LUV to know... I need to do different work, but still with kids, and still in education, but I don't know what!

Thanks! Sad to hear your job isn't exactly what you need right now. I'm afraid I won't be of much help, because mine is in IT. I'll be managing a couple of applications and making sure they fit business processes and I'll help people use these applications when they get stuck or need some help/info. I probably won't have much to do with students at all.

Oh! That's super different than I imagined. Well, I'm glad it excites you and I hope that the hours turn out to be manageable and give you enough time and space to still have adventures 😄

Thanks for your reply. I will... continue learning and continue considering other options! !LOL
