MyPictureDay - Wednesday Walk and the Melt Has Begun...
Finally the snow is beginning to melt with mild temperatures and wind! We are starting to see puddles starting to form although the lakes and ponds are still frozen so this pair of geese decided a puddle was better than a frozen pond and had nestled down right at the edge of the road.

As we came close they began to walk in the opposite direction so I paused to take some photos then turned back to let them enjoy their little bit of open ground.

Our neighbor's dog really enjoyed the puddles and decided to go for her first swim of the year - B-r-r!

With the snow starting to melt the horses were out in the fields instead of hanging out by the hay bales

Meanwhile back in the bush the snow remains pretty deep for it hasn't been exposed to the wind or sun, as Bruno found out when he went off the beaten path!

JJ was playing it safe and found himself some open ground under the spruce trees that were in a more open area!

The squirrels have been active around the yard too, taking their turn at the feeder and chattering from the tree tops protecting their area.

It seems that the only kind of precipitation we can get is snow! They forecast for rain but we just got a light snow which soon melted.

I'm so enjoying the Spring Weather - Finally!
One last wish for you - Happy Earth Day!
I'm waiting patiently for some spring flowers! It shouldn't be long now before we get some pussy willows and crocus flowers blooming (got to love those tough, hardy plants!)

Glad you are finally seeing bare ground. Loved the owl wind chime photo!
What cool shots on your walk, must be nice to see the ground again with the snow melting
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
How wonderful! The snow is melting. The birds are returning. The dogs can swim in the lakes again! We are a few weeks ahead of you with our spring progress. I actually don't see any snow anywhere, at last. Before you know it, you will be seeing some shoots and buds.
Here's hoping for the spring buds and blooms! It's nice to see some evergreen plants popping their head up once released from the snow! Actually that was a big puddle in the ditch from the run off that the dog was swimming in. the lakes aren't open yet!
You made a normal day special.. What a post!
Can feel your excitement on approaching Spring, the dog must really love water to take such an early swim.
Bruno with his excellent coat of fur apparently prefers frolicking around in snow. JJ has the right idea, find a warm dry spot and chill out.
Happy Earth Day!
The snow is melting! Yay! Spring is finally here! It`s always an enchantment to see nature awakening and witness its power.
