Wednesday Walk with Freeze Up and Snow Crystals...
Freeze up has happened here and we got our first skiff of snow. This will most likely stay with us as all the heat has gone out of the ground and the daytime temperatures aren't getting above zero for the next bit.
JJ the cat doesn't go out as much but when he does he gets real frisky racing around and scratching on the tree trunks.

You can tell it is cool on his paws by the way he often lifts his paws.

He also likes to go under the spruce trees where it is dry for the snow hasn't gotten under there yet.

But even with snow JJ comes for a walk with us but only to the head of the lane, never out onto the road.

Up on the hill Bruno is happy to romp in the freshly fallen snow.

In the forest the mossy stump I like to photograph (looks like a gnome's house) takes on a fresh look with the white snow on the green mosses.

A macro shot of the fresh snow showed some lovely snow flake crystals...

I found some beautiful crystals forming on the side of the rain barrels when I dumped the water out of them (they were full and we didn't want them to split when they froze solid.)

Up in the trees there were a few birds flitting by. I did manage to capture a photo of a nuthatch with a seed in it's beak. They are known for stashing food in different locations to return to later. He didn't hang around long but I think he stashed his seed on this tree.

In the evening I saw a whitetail deer at the side of the road. He took a look at me and took off, white tail up high like a flag.

JJ's beautiful!! 😍
Really love the very first pic(:
JJ really does not look so happy with this white stuff on the ground again, Bruno on the other hand one can but imagine him running down the hill in style and all the way back up again enjoying the cooler weather.
Closer look at snow flakes is stunning, glittering like diamonds on the grass! Even though winter is on your doorstep wildlife and birds still feeding before that heavy falls come.
Thanks for a wonderful walk outdoors again @porters have a wonderful day looking for the sun.
Wow... It's winter again at your place... The snowflakes are so beautiful!!!

Beautiful shots but this JJ (me ) isn't looking forward to snow and the cold temps when they get here
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Wow those snowflake shots are just magical. It really reminds me how far apart we are geographically that is, as we just got our first proper rain here since before summer. Everywhere looks so green and vibrant, I do wish it would rain more! I know you certainly don't want for rain or snow xxxxxxx
wow you still have SNOWFLAKES???? Our snow is no longer flakes - they are like tiny ice-clumps - but not with any design - and they don't add up to much anymore thanks to HAARP I guess and chemtrails.
