IT WAS QUIET AND WINDY
Automobiles these days come with a touchscreen where you can control everything with your fingers. I remember a while back, at the center dash you have two knobs and a plastic screen with numbers and a small red stick moving by the numbers. This is how you search for AM or FM depending where you are. Later digital screen is taking place with cassette or CD player. Now there is no such thing. You may be lucky cause I heard they may get rid of the radio as well.
Everything about music may have to come from your phone. Here we go Android play or Apple pay. I forgot to mention GPS was a thing before Apple play changes everything again. Personally using the radio is becoming obsolete unless you drive a newer vehicle where your phone is the entertainment from your house to your car. What a conveniency you have on our hands.
I tried not to use my phone, radio while driving. First it is weird staying quiet by myself. I got to enjoy the road and the noise that comes with it. I was a bit more focus but I feel the need for another noise. I can hear the wind while driving. It is not bad but it is there. It feels strange cause you do not hear much of it while the music is blasting.
I took that opportunity to think a little. Actually I found the idea to post about it. Do any of you can drive for 30 minutes with no music? This is not the first time but I did go all the way. Most folks use that time to make a phone call. Just the quiet part where you can hear the tires, the exhaust of a motorcycle passing clearer. It was worth trying depending the speed your are moving.
I was not going too fast due to traffic on turnpike and it was steady but slow at certain areas. Right now the state is enlarging the expressway. it is two lanes in certain areas. There are adding one lane on each side to ease up traffic. They do most work at night due to traffic. It is fun to try it and it helps to concentrate with traffic flow. What is most important, drive safely and drive according to speed limit. It is mostly on this side of the road 55, 60, 65, all the way to 70 MPH in Palm Beach County and Broward County. Sometimes it is good to appreciate a little quietness.
Actually in our culture, especially among drivers, playing music is considered almost essential. If you ask them to turn it off they'll usually say, "If I turn the music off, I'll start feeling sleepy."
In Karachi, though, you don't really need music because the traffic, car horns, and the constant noise of the city are already a kind of music on their own. 😃
That is interesting Here you can hear the horns when a driver misses a turn light or green because they are on their phone. Other than that it is quiet even loud music some cities are against it. Florida is no joke. But some places yes.
You need that quiet time once in awhile. I mostly listen to podcasts or just nothing.
Same here ;)
I listened to a lot
Of YouTube while driving
I very rarely listen to music in the car. Usually, it’s some podcast on YouTube. But silence in the car is nice, too. ;)
You see. At least you can feel the road but I am not doing it often.
I'd probably purposely drive off a bridge if I wasn't able to listen to the radio while I was driving. It's just too quiet.
Ha ha you are funny. Actually I was trying once and failed. It is a habit to listen to something while driving. You get
Bored fast.
Yeah, I would go crazy!

I don't own a car, but with the help of cryptocurrencies, I hope to have one soon, as well as my own house. And while things are a bit busier now, as you rightly say, safety comes first, so while driving, no driver should be distracted in any way but simply focused on driving to avoid accidents. Although, you can always listen to some music, especially salsa or merengue, to liven things up.
I don't drive cars but I do ride a bike and I love feeling the wind on my face and seeing nature while the wind hits my face, I understand you
