WHOSE WORK AND WHOSE WORLD?

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. This work of creation was completed within six days and on the seventh day, He rested from all His work which He had made. If God needed rest, where do we stand today as workers of righteousness. When you get so overwhelmed by work and possibly the work of God, such that you can’t even carve out time to rest; who do you seek to imitate? Whose work are you doing and in whose world are you operating?

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof the world and all that dwell therein. He has ordained rest for all mankind, in that He rested after six days of work.
The ordinance of day and night is an ordinance of rest for mankind. Jesus proclaimed in John 9:4 –

“I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work”.

There are some who claim not to know the “night”, they just keep firing. Whose work and whose world? There is no spirituality in working without rest. Jesus; in Mark 6:31 told His disciples – “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while”. Why did He instruct them that way? – The Bible says –

  • “For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat”.*

When the Author and Owner of the work is calling you to rest, and you refuse; you are on your own and you will not find the result pleasant.

The Bible says in Psalm 100:3; that, *“It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves”. He knows your make up and He has designed that you work and rest. He demonstrated it by working and resting; if you choose to keep firing without resting, you constitute yourself a deviant, it doesn’t matter whether you are preaching with all manner of signs following. You can’t survive, working at the expense of the instruction of the Owner of the work. It is a satanic deception, thinking there is no other person that can do the work like you.

With God, there is always someone that can. Before you, the work has been and after you; if the Lord tarries the work will be and because it is God’s work, it will increase. So, better align yourself properly and learn to appreciate rest.
