Independence Day

This year India is celebrating its 75th Independence Day. As everyone knows that on 15th August 1947, our country became completely independent from British rule. Since then we all Indians celebrate this day with great enthusiasm and pride. Every year since independence we celebrate this day as Independence Day. 15 August i.e. Independence Day has been declared as a national holiday in the country. On this day there is a holiday in all government offices like banks, post offices, all other offices etc. Along with this, the tricolor is hoisted in all schools, colleges and offices and in some places essay competition is organized on this occasion. 15 August 1947 was a very lucky day for India. On this day our country got independence after almost 200 years of British slavery. Many freedom fighters had to lose their lives to get freedom for India. After the hard struggle of the freedom fighters, India became independent from the British rule. Since then till today we celebrate Independence Day on 15th August.
Independence Day is a national holiday in India. A day before this, the President of India addresses the country. Which is also shown in many TV channels along with radio. Every year on Independence Day, the Prime Minister of the country hoists the tricolor at the Red Fort. After hoisting the tricolor, the national anthem is sung and 21 shots are fired and a salute is also given. Along with this, the Indian Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces and NCC cadets parade. This day is broadcast live from Red Fort through DD National channel of TV and All India Radio. Keeping in mind the threat of terrorism, strict security arrangements are also made.
Along with only the capital of the country, the Chief Ministers of all other states of the country also hoist the tricolor in their state with respect. Tributes are paid to our great freedom fighters on 15th August and they are respected. Patriotic songs and slogans are chanted on this day. At the same time some people celebrate the festival of independence by flying kites.
