An Abandoned Church in Cuatro Colinas and other interesting buildings!

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

The latest weekly contest's theme, Interesting Buildings by the Gaming Photography community is a tough one for me as I don't play many games with has impressive skyscrapers or buildings so I had to go and look for some inside some less explored maps of theHunter: Call of the Wild.

One of the less explored reserves is the Cuatro Colinas Game Reserve situated somewhere in Spain. It was my first choice to find some interesting items as this place had some old untouched buildings and was less explored too.

I took out my ATV and went to the southern part of the reserve, there was so much uncharted territory left in that region. While I was taking some photographs of a cool bridge that connected two hills, I saw something over the hills.

I had to get closer to see what I was looking at. It looked like a big building on the peak of the highest hill in the region. This was still a couple of kilometres away. So, I had to get closer.

One thing that you can't see from the above shot is the river flowing in the valley. It was big enough to cut that chunk of land so we had to take a much longer route.

It took us a few more minutes on our fast ATV to get closer and now I could see the building. I was still unsure, of what kind of structure it was, it didn't look like part of a fort which was my first guess or a fancy watch tower.

It was some kind of old monastery and there was no one here. On the right or the back side, just close to the edge of the cliff, you could see the entire landscape. This served as a watch tower and I could survey the land from this point. The views were amazing!

I was not expecting a monastery on this part of the map. It was so far from the cultivated parts of the reserve and was quite elevated. Walking up to this place itself must be a challenge.

But this was the back side of it. Let me show you how it looks from the front.

But the other side was pretty impressive as well. Now, I am confused about which one is the front side...lol. Let me know if can guess.

I wish those trees were not covering the building. There were a lot of doors, including an iron bar gate but all were shut and I couldn't get inside. But I could still fit my camera between the iron bars and took a shot of the inside.

Looking at the scale of this building, I suspect this would be included in some story mission and I might be able to get inside later when this mission comes up. But for that, I have to do a lot of missions. I am not doing a lot of them on this map and always get distracted by the animals. Just like the Grand Theft Auto games where you will find yourself doing some random things and not doing the story missions unless you are really into the story.

I waited for the sun to set and let the trees' shadow fall on the walls of the building which gave me an interesting shot. You can also see how the colour gets more yellowish as the sun gets lower and closer to the Horizon.

I wanted to see how the sunlight in the morning would hit the building and how it would glow. So, I had to go back to the nearest outpost and change the time to about sunrise and come back here. It was a lengthy process but it was all worth it when I saw the golden sunrays hitting the top of the building.

Another interesting aspect of this reserve is its unique towers. Unlike most of the other reserves, they are quite old and made out of stones.

Sheru loves to photo-bomb all my pictures. Just ignore him, he loves the camera!

Another interesting building on this map is the Long Bridge over the river. It's stunning.

It's not a small one either and this is the biggest that I found in this map. All of these I believe were constructed during the Spanish Inquisition.

The last shot is from a different region but it shows how nature ultimately reclaims everything!

Thanks for reading...

Until next hunt...

The game has a dynamic day night cycle. Like for every 1 min passes in the game, some 10 mins passes or something similar. Alternatively, you can go to the nearest rest house and reat there to change the time of the day.

A majestic church although I must admit that I really liked the pictures of the bridge, as a civil engineering student I can't help but notice great work hahahaha

I cranked up the graphics to "Ultra" for that shot just for the water to look much better. My PC could barely handle it, but the result was stunning as we all can see.

I was a bit disappointed to not find a big fort there because it would serve as a great defensive structure...hehe. (Or maybe aI have seen a lot of forts from India built in similar high peaks which defeated large armies back in the time)
