Imposter in NFS MOST WANTED 2005! Playing with Cops

Hello gamers, I hope you are doing well.

I played a lot of the Need For Speed franchise, mainly the older ones: NFS Hot Pursuit, Carbon and Underground. But the most time I spend playing is the Most Wanted 2005 edition. Going back home after school had us excited and me and brother used to take turns completing races and mocking those police cars.

Well, the times have changed and now some of the racing games have the most realistic graphics but this game hasn't aged keeping in mind it was launched almost two decades ago!

The police chases were such a huge part of this game and if you complete the main campaign there were a lot of challenges in the "Challenger Series" section which were mostly toolbooth races or pursuits with a twist. There are some interesting pursuits with unique cars and cars which you can't use in the normal campaign like the Taxi and even trucks!

Today, I want to share one such interesting challenge where you control a Police SUV and evade the police within 4 minutes. The heat level is 3 and we start with a 15 cars backup so it is not that easy to evade within 4 minutes which passes so quickly when you are in a pursuit.

Here is the video of me attempting to complete it, I failed the challenge the first time as the time was over but on my next attempt, I evaded the police within 4 minutes. (Sorry for the poor quality).

The SUV is a good vehicle for the police pursuit, I felt it was very strong and going through the roadblocks easily.

The Heat level was only level 3 which is not that challenging, what made it challenging was the amount of police cars you had to destroy and lose before only 1 or 2 cars were chasing you and then trying to take care of them.

There are some 'pursuit breakers' which are just structures that you can ram your car into and they take down the police cars. One of them is located just next to the Police station itself.

Magically your car will come out of it like nothing happened but all the other police cars just get destroyed completely. If not for these Pursuit breaker, it would be very challenging to lose all the cops within 4 minutes.

I have memorised most of the locations of these structures and it helps if you plan ahead and go to that part of the map where you find enough of those as quickly as possible.

There is a cooldown period before you completely lose the cops and this cooldown is longer for higher heat levels and those cars will look more aggressively for you during that time. The best thing to do is to find a hiding spot, you will always find one near most of the time. I just parked behind some boxes and away from the road which will just fill your cooldown meter quickly.

Longest Race in the game

One of my favourite cars in the game is the Lamborghini Gallardo, it is an exceptional car, one of the fastest in the game when fully upgraded and the handling is good too, you can take sharp turns easily and the best part is it remains grounded and feels heavy against the police cars.

I used it to win the longest race event in the game. A tollbooth event where you have to complete the checkpoints under a specific time and failing to do it will end the race.

It wasn't too difficult for the most part of the race. There are no other racers with you and you race against time in this one. It was a Blacklist 1 race so the traffic was set on maximum and this race covers most of the Rockport city.

I collided with a lot of traffic in this one, they were such a nuisance.

But those collisions didn't stop me from completing this race with a big buffer of 31 seconds with an average speed of 236 Km/h, which tells you how good the highways were. The first part of the race was on Highway 99 which is the best highway if you are trying to achieve the top speed.

I played a few quick races too with random cars and won those too. Let's hope the rumours are right and we are getting a reboot of this game in the near future. They better be bringing this masterpiece back!
