Be Good

It's been more than a year since I last went back home. After my mother's death, home just didn't seem like home anymore but there was no way I was going to run away forever, so I decided to come spend the holidays with my family this December and it has been beautiful so far.

Today had been much more interesting though, I was having some father and son moment with my dad when we both started talking about how it pays to be good to people. And my dad being the man he is (the man who has a story for every moment) decided to tell me a story that I'm sure would stay with me for a very long time.

My dad had told me a story about a man who stayed overseas and wanted to help a man who had helped his father many years ago when they had nothing. Unfortunately, when he finally located the man's family here,he discovered that the man was dead. He felt so sad but decided to carry on with his plans.

He had contacted the son of the now late man he wanted to help and they had became friends. He decided not to tell him about how his father had helped his own father when he was alive and just acted like them meeting online was pure coincidence.

It didn't take long before the man living overseas opened up about his plans to build a house over here and needed someone to help him oversee the project since he wasn't in the country. Of course the son of the dead man had agreed to help him out.

The man overseas had sent him lots of money for the building but the young man had decided to play smart instead. Qhereevee he needed to put ten bag of cements, he would put five and eat the money of the remaining five. He did this until the building was completed.

He had later contacted the guy overseas, telling him his house was now ready and he was free to fly down to the country to come see it. The guy overseas had done just that,he had entered the country few days later and had been impressed by the huge building he saw and that was when he told his friend his real agenda.

"The house is all yours" the man had told his friend what he thought was a good news but the other man didn't have a smile on his face because he knew there was no way he was going to leave in a house that could collapse any moment.

By the time dad was done with this story,I could clearly see the message he was trying to pass. Be careful of the things you do,because we really could be causing harm to ourselves unknowingly.

Ouch! I didn't see that ending coming.
It really pays to do good. Now the young man will live to regret his action all his life.
What goes around comes around they say.

lol dang dang, this is karma!.. it serves him right... This is exactly what we are facing in nigeria now, if you do not monitor your investment by yourself, some people are ready to ruin it for you...

So sorry for the loss of your mother. I know it's so difficult to loose a parent but hey that story is super cool. His greed got him to where he was, let him live in the house instead and feel the pain when it crumbles.

Yeah.. Though I doubt he's going to stay there because he knows the house is nothing but a giant grave.
