Drug Abuse

I feel like people don't talk enough about how much drugs there is in Universities. The first time I actually saw Crystal meth in my life was in school. Young kids who never really had that much freedom before in their lives were suddenly all trying to enjoy it to the fullest, and some of them always end up taking crystal meth, mostly due to bad friends or company.

The first time I saw Crystal meth was right in front of my door at my hostel. At the time, I didn't know what that was and watched as the young lad tried getting himself high. I had asked him why he was taking whatever that was and he had told me it was because he didn't want to fall asleep that night. Somehow taking crystal meth helps keep him awake.

I had tried preaching to him against taking things like that because they're very addictive and also harmful to the body but the guy only laughed at me and even offered to let me smoke some if I wanted to. I had left him because I knew he was kinda like a lost cause.. His mind was made up and nothing I would say to him that night would make any difference.

For some of you wondering why he had wanted to stay up all night, it wasn't because he had exams the next day and wanted to read throughout the night, it was because he was an internet fraudster and needed to be up all night in other to scam as much people as he could online.

About two days later, I had seen him looking a bit weak and pale. I asked him what was wrong and he had explained to me that he had taken too much of the meth and now he could no longer sleep even though he wanted to, so now he resulted to taking cough syrups and other sleeping pills to help him sleep. It was a funny thing to me because few days ago, I just saw him trying to not sleep and now here he is, trying so hard to get some sleep.

All of that was four years ago though and now I have no idea where the young man is or what later became of him. All I knew was that he ended up getting some drips from a professional nurse few days later because he became very ill.

One thing I did take from all of that experience though was that there's nothing good about hard drugs and no one should even give it a try because the moment you do, you will get hooked and before you know it, you're addicted and that is the end because all road will lead to you ruining your life from there.

Y'all be safe and say no to drugs.

I completely agree with your point. Addiction is a very bad habit which is very difficult to quit once it is started. And for some people, they don't leave until they lose their lives. Even if they want to leave it, every time they do thinking that this is the last time.

Even if they want to leave it, every time they do thinking that this is the last time.

Very true. They always tell themselves that that is the last time but the truth is that there really isn't any last time, because they will end up doing it again.

And that's why it's best to never start it in the first place. Not starting at all, is much more easier than trying to quit.
