Doing a good deed for free has always been something I know I will love to do because I love helping people and seeing them happy. Unfortunately, as much as I wouldn't like to admit it, I haven't really done much of volunteering in this young life that I've lived, and I probably have a good reason for that.

Of course I'm going to blame it on the environment and the place where I've lived. Over here, everyone is always suspicious about everyone because we live in a superstitious country where to us youths, almost every old lady that isn't a member of our family is a witch and will probably kill us or convert us to a witch too if we got too close to them, so we all tend to focus on our business and don't do nothing for anybody that isn't a friend of ours.

But the thing is, now that I think of it, if we're being completely honest, I've probably volunteered to do one or two things in my life. They've been multiple occasions where I had volunteered to help my friends mom carry their loads to their house or shop whenever I see them coming back from the market, that's volunteering isn't it?

Lol.

But one time I almost really volunteered for something was during one of my school matriculation event. My eldest brother, along with some of his friends had gone to the school gate to control the traffic in other to avoid congestion due to the large amount of vehicles that would be coming into the school that day. He had left here some time around 9am and when he returned about 4pm, a part of his face was darker than usual. His blackness was raised to power 2. I remember secretly thanking God that I had changed my mind at the last minute and stayed back home because that day had been very sunny and they were all under the sun, with no face cap or sun shades on. Just a bunch of black men getting darker by the minute.

It was a good thing they did that day and they all did it for free. Maybe one day I will do something better than that because I prefer helping and touching individuals lives directly and hopefully not standing under the sun while doing it. This boy is already black enough.

As I commented at https://ecency.com/hive-110786/@creativehive/more-than-18-million-children-are-suffering-from-severe-acute-life-threatening-malnutrition-in-the-horn-of-africa-whats-the-un seawater drinkers have been informing many helping organizations about how diluted seawater at 25% is the best nutrition drink only after mother's milk. But they all keep ignoring the documentation provided by the frenchman Rene Quinton because there is no business for anyone to save people from hunger.

Helping people is good thing without knowing the reward. But often people get for granted.

Yeah that's also true.. You could get taken for granted but it shouldn't stop you from doing good.. You just can stop doing it for that particular individual and help others who are appreciative of your help.

Nothing is as good as doing someone a favor without expecting no return from them, the mindset truly has a great concept in our lives.
