I'm Pregnant

When I thought of today's post topic, I couldn't help it but laugh because I know a lot of you will be confused and probably wondering how in the world I'm pregnant. Well I'm not exactly pregnant (I haven't done any test yet, lol), I just feel pregnant.

You see last night was one of those nights where I try to go to bed early because I have to get up early on Saturdays for sanitation. But finding sleep last night proved to be difficult because I usually don't go to bed that early.

I eventually slept off some time around 1am and had gotten up around 6am. Everything felt fine at first but the moment I got done with sanitation, I felt completely different. You see I always hear pregnant women complain about feeling tired and nauseous all the time, and that was almost how I felt.

I felt completely weak, almost like I ran a marathon in my sleep. I had decided to take a break from work (I had a lot of work to do that morning) and get more rest, hoping that by the time I was up, I would be strong and ready for the day's work.

Ladies and gentlemen, I had blinked my eyes, only to wake up around 2pm still feeling like shit. That was when I knew that me feeling this way had nothing to do with sleep or running a marathon in my sleep, I was coming down with an illness. But as an African man that I am, I decided to do what every man I know would do, I decided to ignore it and just go about my day.

I tried getting some job done but everything I did was done sluggishly. I didn't have enough strength to do anything and by the time it got to evening, I could no longer cope with my health, so I took a quick trip to the chemist shop downstairs and as usual, it was what I suspected, the usual.

If there's a particular kind of drugs that makes millions (if not billions) here in Nigeria, it will be malaria drugs and I added a little bit to those millions this evening as I left the chemist shop this evening with drugs in my hand.

Luckily for me, according to the nurse, I caught on to it early so I should be on my feet, feeling strong and healthy like never before.

Get well soon @prayzz, it's just one of our woes as African, we can't do without malaria, good thing is, you caught on it early, a speedy recovery to you and try less stressful activities at the moment, from experience, stress aggravates malaria for me.

Thank you @glorydee .. Luckily for me, I only feel it the most at night (night fever or something like that) but I'm sure I will get well soon 🙂.
