Not my Best Days
For a couple of years now, my most hated day of the week has usually been Mondays and this is because it's usually the day where everyone tries to be extra serious because it's the first working day of the week, so they all want to start the week serious in order to get a good result at the end of the week. Reason why a lot of people (other than myself) hates Mondays, there's always a lot of work to do.
My hatred for Mondays continued until about a year or two back when the "sit at home" thingy started in the eastern part of Nigeria. Citizens were advised to sit at home on Mondays to avoid getting hurt by some unknown gunmen. This was done as a way to protest a certain man being held in prison by the Nigerian government even after the court of law had ordered for the said man to be released.
So from being my most hated day of the week, Monday turned into one of my best days of the week because I was no longer required to do anything, it was a public holiday and all I had to do was sleep, wake up, eat and repeat. And for a moment I allowed myself think that it would remain that way, no more bad days but it soon turned out that I was only being delusional as it didn't take long for another day to replace Monday as my most hated day of the week, and that day was no other than Saturday.
It was as if Saturday went rogue and decided to change from being the day where I get to play football with my friends and just sleep all day when I'm back, to something unrecognisable to me. All of a sudden I was required to wake up early every Saturday in order to supervise the hostel clean up and make sure everyone participated and the hostel is looking sparkling clean.
And if you guys know me very well, you'd know that I'm not the type to go to bed early and one thing you don't wanna do when you don't go to bed early is wake up early the next day. Unfortunately, this is something I can't escape until the current position I hold in my hostel is taken from me, which won't happen until the end of this year.
So yeah, myself and Saturday got a long beef ahead of us and I just hope I'm able to find a way around it to make sure I don't walk around like a zombie every Saturday due to deprivation of sleep.
Mondays are the most serious days for so many people and for so many organisations. My son's school are fond of piling dozens of assignment too for the students on Monday and every Monday evening when my kids return from a school, it's always stress putting them through the whole series of assignments
U guys in the east has been enjoying Monday honestly..I wonder when the sit at home will end
For the role u have in Ur hostel, I am sorry for the short early morning sleep.. hopefully it will be over soon

But yeah, Mondays are always stressful.

Did you put yourself in this hostel position or was it forced on you? Because either way, I assume you knew what you got into when you took the role on.
Sorry for you though. I hate Sundays, and it’s because it reminds me the new week is starting.
Actually this roles just get handed down to you, so I didn't exactly "take it" it was handed down to me.
I never heard about such stuff which gifts someone an off for the whole day, but you have fetched good stuff from that time period. Well for few people Monday brings more expectations which are shattered on the same day lolx. Also some zombies are alive and might be writing the comment now hehe.
It wasn't exactly a gift, it was actually a huge situation that involved people getting killed, so we all were forced to stay at home on Mondays for our safety.
But such political crisis and failure of government aren't foreseen. Imagine how much economic loss happened only because of this.
