Working Smart

avatar

I've seen a couple of videos on tiktok and YouTube where someone draws a little circle on the floor and then they offer to pay for anything you're able to fit into that circle, as long as none of the things touches the line of the circle and they don't fall down. Some had even gone a little bit further and had gotten rid of the circle, giving that person a different option, a time limit.

They ask you to pick whatever it is you want at the store within a short amount of time, and that whatever it is you pick, they will pay for it.

Now in those videos, the time given are usually below thirty seconds and yet you still see people getting their hands filled with stuff, now imagine if they were given five minutes to get whatever it is they wanted, which is today's contest from the Hive Learners Community.

You see if I was given five minutes to get whatever it is I wanted from any store, the last place I want to go is the grocery store. I say that because something tells me that's where the lots of you will be going to, because they have tiny things there that you can easily pick and move to the next thing.

To me, that's you thinking small. The fact that you're going for something small tells you that those things are cheap and you could easily buy them yourself (even though you might take like a hundred of them).

If I'm really given the opportunity to take whatever it is I want from any store for the next five minutes, I definitely will be going for the expensive things, things that has weight (which also translates to money) but not that heavy to slow me down. When I say things, I mean the electronic stores, the Samsung tv's, expensive phones and laptops, and if possible I might lift some fridges too.

Now I'm not taking this things just because I plan on using all of them, no. I'm sure within five minutes, I will be able to take more than five high quality Samsung tv's that are really expensive, among other things. I won't be needing five tv's, one is enough. But then I get to sell the other four and get some really good cash, that's what I meant when I said "translates to money".

I'm pretty confident I will be able to get a lot of these things within five minutes because I don't know if its enough time for you, but it is for me. And when I eventually walk out of that store, I won't be walking out as a man whose got enough groceries to feed me for a year in case there's a zombie apocalypse, I will be walking out as a man who is about to open a little business at his backyard and make some serious cash.

So yeah, if I was given five minutes to shop for free, this is what you should be expecting from me. And by the way, this is me thinking small, because I really should be talking about shopping for cars and maybe aeroplanes 😂.

This is my entry to the Hive Learners week 53,edition 3 contest.

Heheh lol you and I literally thought alike lol, why will I have 5 mins to shop in shop rite and I am going for foodstuffs and groceries lol when there is expensive home appliances like TV, generator, fridge, gas cooker, air con, standing fans lol, something I know costs a fortune outside the store on a normal day lol..

I will now waste my time on 500# and 1000# stuff when I can just point at 500k TV and fridge, I don't even have to lift anything, in that case, I will have the attendant take mark of what I am choosing and that too with delivery, after then I will go to Omo igbo to go and buy foodstuffs but I don loot 1 million for shoprite lol...

You get level bro, you wise lol...

Lol I agree with your logic on not grabbing groceries. Pretty smart. The grocery store features “cheap” things, but for an opportunity like this, you wouldn’t want to grab a handful of groceries that’ll cost just $15 right? It just wouldn’t make sense. As for whether you’ll find yourself in a shop with small expensive gadgets, that’ll entirely be based on luck. Great thinking though.
