You haven't been hurt by a lady

Well first of all, I think today's topic is kinda like a controversial one, one that I think that I may or may not have spoken about here. But you see, the reason I'm talking about today's topic was because of a recent conversation I had with the boys the other day.

My friend's cousin is in town and crashing at my friend's place for some few days before he leaves and yesterday, we all were in the room playing video games while also seeing a movie at the same time when the conversation about men hitting women came up. Now experience has taught me not to get involved in these kind of conversations because they always end up turning into something else.. But then my friend's cousin had made a statement, one that I felt was wrong.

He had said that if he walks in on any situation where he sees a man hitting a lady, he would automatically start hitting the man, regardless of whatever the lady's offence was because he doesn't care, and that no reason is enough for a man to hit a lady.

Now, the reason why I said his statement was wrong is because I've come to find out that this generation prefers being woke than making use of their common sense. For some reason we (men) have chosen to look at the female specie as kinda like a lower form of human that deserves to be pampered and all that. And strangely, most women like it that way but only when the situation is in their favour.

They don't mind being seen as a weaker vessel as long as it means you won't hit them when they hit you, but when it comes to things like their place of work where they get paid less than other men in the same position as them, they get angry because why should they earn less when they're literally doing the same work.

So you see, they get selective on when they want to be treated like women and when they want to be seen as equals. To me, I feel that is wrong. Now I'm not saying that we should hit women any chance we get or when they offend us, I think I can say that I've never beaten a lady before in my life and I have no plans to.. But saying that a man shouldn't hit a lady because it's wrong is actually a very wrong statement to make.

We shouldn't hit people in general but if they do something that makes them deserve to be hit, then they should get hit. We can be more patient with the ladies and even try to walk away from situations that may lead to something like that but seriously, if I come back home and I hear that some girl down the street slapped my mom, I would knock her out.

And this isn't because I'm a woman beater, no. I would knock anyone out who slaps my mom, be it a man, a woman or even my brothers. And that was why when my friend's cousin made that statement, I had looked at him and said to him gently that it depends on what the lady did.

A lot of us here would claim that there's nothing a lady would do to us that would make us hit her, and my response to that has and will always be "woman never do you something" which is pidgin English for "You haven't been hurt by a lady yet"...

So yeah, it's a good thing not to hit anyone at all, irrespective of their gender because violence isn't a good thing, but if you must, please defend yourself from a lady. Do not fold your hands and probably get injured just because she's a lady and you don't want to hit her and be called a woman beater by the society, because if the cases were reversed and you're the one getting beat up by a lady, society wouldn't be against her but would instead laugh at you and even insult you for getting beat up by a lady.

So you see, we lose either way but if you ask me, I would rather defend myself and have them call me all manner of names. That to me is a win.
