[LOH#100] Avoiding Online Scam

Welcome friends

Source

It's another edition of the @ladiesofhive weekly prompt.
It feels fantastic to write in the #100 contest.

I have been a victim of internet fraud severally albeit not necessarily a relational kind of scam.
Mine was in a form of investment and being compensated.
I have met several Friends online but I haven't been in an internet relationship.
If we should be in a relationship we should at least see first.

Avoid internet dating
For me, I believe internet dating should be avoided. Its true individuals get to know themselves and get married via social media platforms but before you define the relationship and get deeper into online dating make sure you visit the person.
If your friend is extremely distant, maybe in separate countries make sure you have video calls, and zoom in to make sure you aren't conversing with a scammer.

Don't transfer money if you're not sure
If you encounter someone who is continuously bugging you to pay money for problems, you might ask for evidence before giving.
Avoid transmitting money if you suspect any type of fraud.
Avoid trusting internet people quickly.
I have been there previously when I lost over $200.

Report the User
If a person threatens you in a case if you don't give money. You may report the individual on any social network and the person might be banned.

I would love to invite @mell79 @belleflower to join this contest. Check here to know more.

Today's Internet is genuinely not a safe place. I am aware of the prevalence of online scams. I do have a story of being conned into purchasing goods online, but despite the seller's best efforts to find an explanation for everything, I still received my orders. We should all be alert of online scams because of this, as users.

I'll be more cautious from now on. This happened to me in 2016, and I've learnt since then to be more cautious when purchasing online.

Oh my goodness!
Scammers' stories will never end, right @prechidi ?
I'm curious how they sleep at night after stealing other people's money.

I don't think those people have conscious because karma will eventually hunt them

I've written a post about this too because I'll be joining the contest for the first time. I almost fell victim to the scammer because of the love I claimed to have for him but the moment the scales fell off my eyes, I ran off as fast as I could. Lol

Sorry to read about you losing money online. Thank you for these valuable tips you have shared. And true, one should be wary when someone starts to ask for money especially online. It is always best to be vigilant to avoid getting scammed.

I have heard of cases when someone uses a dating app or website to connect with potential victims and then asks them to invest in a cryptocurrency. Scammers are always scammers. They will do whatever to take advantage of unsuspecting victims for money. You had some great tips about avoiding scams. Thanks for the entry, much appreciated it !LADY
