Cyberspace And Bullying

Cyberspace is the global internet world or can be seen as the virtual computer world. This is an electronic medium where interactions from various parts of the globe take place, it's a large system of the network.
The cyberspace possesses too much importance to man and it's existence. The importance of cyberspace can never be overemphasized.
Some of the importance/benefits of cyberspace to the world at large include:

√ It creates a better and faster communication process between individuals at various part of the group
√ Easy accumulation and record of data
√ A medium to meet great minds not necessarily from your location thereby creating a means to learn about the culture of others and make friends and business partners with others in various locations around the globe.
√ An easy way to access information of the various field of study for academic research, proposals and the benefit of increasing personal knowledge
√ Cyberspace has also been able to create various job opportunities both remote and non-remote jobs.

Like I said earlier the importance of Cyberspace can never be overemphasized. And the aforementioned are just some of the importance of Cyberspace to man.
The cyberspace was created for good but in every good establishment or venture, there will surely be some vices against what such venture starts for. And when it comes to cyberspace we have two major vices eating deep into it which are: Cybercrime and Cyberbullying.

Today my interest is on cyberbullying.
Bullying is a lazy man's language that is the act of intimidating others who are perceived as weak or using one's weakness persistently to make life unbearable for them.
Cyberspace that ought to be a safe system whereby one gains knowledge, has fun, and utilizes the system for beneficial purpose as becoming one of the sole ground for bullies.
Cyberbullying is the act of using the electronic medium/internet to intimidate an individual, company, or group of persons. With the invention of social media, it's development, and with the rate, the number of social media platforms out there is growing. Cyberbullying has become like a norm in today's world.

The act of Cyberbullying is usually found among teenagers. A kid may take the hate he/she has against his/her school mates or peer into the Internet and bully them with offensive words, an embarrassing situation that has occurred to them, and so on.
Adults also are not exempted from cyberbullying. My first-hand experience of cyberbullying was when I joined an online Nigeria platform and I see adults coming together to find details of a person through his social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram, and so on, in order to troll them with personal information found on the platform.

Some friendships or relationships went sore and an angry partner may result in trolling the other partner in the platform. What gets me the most is that the moderators on the platform only put little effort to tame this rate of cyberbullying because they want more traffic. And subsequently, right now the platform is filled with a majority of Cyberbullies, those with no tough skin left and others that were normal civil individuals utilizing the platform has to turn into bullies in the process of trying to defend themselves from the initial bullies.

The act of Cyberbullying includes doing things against others in the cyberspace as follows:
Posting rumors about a person
Using someone's hard situation or personal life to make a mockery of them online
Threatening people online
Internet trolling
Cyberstalking and so on...
