(Edited)

Hello....I am back with one more interesting trip to world famous Jog Falls, untouched heaven Honnavar- Sharavathi backwaters and Apsarakonda falls.

Karnataka is very beautiful part of south India. It is popular for its greenery. I would recommend train journey so that one can witness the beauty and green lush lands throughout the journey.

First we went to Jog Falls

Jogfalls is one of the famous waterfalls. It is the highest waterfall in karnataka and third highest waterfall in the country. It is world famous waterfall. It is sight seeing waterfall. One cannot take bath in it. We can enjoy the natural scenic beauty. It is located in shimoga district of karanataka. The drop is 830ft.
In monsoon season the water is much more than this.

There are four drops. The name of the four cascades are Raja ,Rani, Roarer and Rocket.

The beauty of the fall is enhanced by the greenery surrounding. We reached Talguppa via train and then we hired a car for Jogfalls and from there we went Murudeswara.
In last post I shared about Murudeswara temple.

Apsarakonda falls- Pond of Angels

Apsarakonda means Pond of Angels. It is said that the angels used to take bath here so that it is known as Apsarakonda. It is about eight km from Honnavar. There are 100 steps to go down to the falls. The water flows down to the roots of the peepal tree. It is surrounded by the woods and trees. The water cascades down from the height of 12 meters into a pond below.
The best time to visit this falls or any falls is monsoon season. The volume of the water will increases and the weather will be pleasant.

As you can see the people are playing and swimming safely.
Due to mud the water became muddy in color. But at morning it will be crytal clear water.

Feeling hungry Its time to eat now-:

We ate Idli and sambhar. The dipped Idli was delicious. Dipped Idli means they will give you a bowl with two Idlis and pour Sambhar in it.
If you want seperate you can have it too. But I loved it. As I always prefer the seperate Idli and sambhar at restaurants but this time my husband said that you need to try this dipped one and you will love it. And definitely I tried it the first time and I loved it. It was very flavourful.

Honnavar- Sharavathi backwaters boat ride

Honnavar is small town in karanataka. The most beautiful thing of Honnavar is its greenery and backwaters. Here sharavathi backwater is very popular. Without visiting Sharavathi backwaters boat ride this place is incomplete. The boats are decorated very beautifully and you cannot take off your eyes. You have to take a ride on this decorated boats after seeing them. They will charge you 1000 rs for full private boats and it will be your private boats and in sharing it is likee 100 to 500 Rs dependending on the nos of the person. We took a private boat and it was very good experience. We choose our decorated boat and we 5 members were there in our boat. It was 1 hour ride among the mangrove forests and we enjoyed the beauty and experience.

This was our family decorated boat-

My daughter and mother inlaw.

Going through the mangrove forest-

We stayed at Murudeswara in a Lodge. Then from there we went in auto because the town is small and we can visit all the tourist places in auto or Taxi.
The price is also reasonable. Veg and non veg both was there in the restaurants. So no need to worry about food.
As the town is small so not much vareities of food is there but Non veg sea food is more there. So non veggie people can enjoy more🤣

So this was my wonderful and beautiful trip. I hope you have seen and enjoyed the beauty Virtually..😊
