Diet Snacks- Chivda (flattened rice flakes)

Hello hiveans !!
Hope all are good.

The festive seasons end and the regular schedules started.

Chivda is a savory and salted snack mixture made with flattened rice flakes, peanuts and some spices. We can make this in two different ways one is roasted the healthier version and 2nd one the fried versions. We can add many things in chivda snacks like nuts, dried fruits, curry leaves, potato chips or sticks.

But I made the healthier version which is roasted.

I made chivda snacks during Diwali. So today I am going to share the recipe of this simple easy and healthy snacks which we can have without any guilt. Specially who are on diet.
This recipe can be made under 30 mins.

One more important thing I want to tell you here that the fried one will be more cruncy and crispy texture.
If you want to fry the chivda you can, to get a crispy taste and find out which way you like the most.

INGREDIENTS
▪︎flattened rice-2cup
▪︎peanuts-½cup
▪︎oil-1tbspn
▪︎turmeric powder-½tspn
▪︎redchili powder-½tspn
▪︎salt-to the taste
▪︎curry leaves-5 -10
▪︎sugar(optional)
▪︎blacksalt-to the taste.
▪︎chatmasala- ½tspn
▪︎cashews-½tbspn
▪︎raisins-½tbspn
▪︎potato sticks or chips(crushed)--½cup

Method

1.take a wide kadhai or pan.
Then add peanuts and roast it till they are roasted.

2.Take out the peanuts in a plate and keep aside.

3.Further add 2 cups of flattened rice or poha to the same pan.

4.Roast the poha softly by spatula.

They are very light so very softly you have to roast it very carefully and donot over stir the poha.

Add 1 tbspn oil and keep the flame low.

Add curry leaves, whole red chili.

5.After 5 to 7 mins the poha will become crispy.

5.Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, black salt and chat masala.

6.mix it softly.

7.Here you can add roasted cashews, raisins, some nuts ,potato chips or roasted sticks of potato, and peanuts.

8.now mix it.

9.Add little sugar (optional). Mix it and roast for 5mins more.

10.Now mix everything with soft hand so that everything gets mixed.

Now off the flame and let the chivda cool in room temperature. Once they are cool serve it in a bowl with a Cup or Tea /Coffee or cold Coffee.

Rest chivdas you can store it in a airtight container to enjoy it later or whenever you want to have it.

I have skipped adding roasted coconut slices. If you want you can add them.

I hope you will like this snacks.

Yes, it is crunchy and delicious. It is a type of rice that is made from raw or parboiled rice grains. We can also cook this with onions, tomatoes, spice and herbs.

It is best for breakfast and very easy for making.
