Food to be enjoyed-Vegetarian Paneer Shawarma!

Its Sunday and sunday is for relaxing and making some yummy dishes for the family. Today I am going to share a recipe of Veg Paneer Shawarma.. By the name of Shawarma we all think of meat wrapped in flatbread with different types of sauces. Actually shawarma means non vegetarian dish but there is no dish that cannot be turn into a vegetarian one. BUT veg shawarma means flatbread wrapped in Panner, mayo and vegetables.

Paneer means Cottage cheese. This Paneer shawarma is vegetarian dish made up of refined flour roti or for healthier option wheat flour roti(flatbread) wrapped with grilled marinated Paneer, colorful pickled vegetables and white garlic and sesame mayo spread and spices.

If you are making shawarma a healthy one then it is a good option for dinner to grab.

So lets see how to cook this Veg shawarma-

INGREDIENTS-

Serving 4

▪︎paneer-250gm
▪︎onions-1cup
▪︎yogurt-½cup
▪︎red chilli powder-½tbspn
▪︎salt-to the taste.
▪︎garam masala or tandoori masala-½tspn
▪︎garlic paste-1 tbspn
▪︎oil-2tbspn
▪︎lemon juice-1tspn.
▪︎kasuri Meethi-½tbspn
▪︎water-2cup
▪︎sugar-1tbspn
▪︎beetroot-½cup
▪︎carrot-½cup
▪︎cucumber-½cup
▪︎tomato-¼cup
▪︎bay leaf-1
▪︎sesame seeds-⅓cup
▪︎garlic pods-5 -6
▪︎cabbage leaf or lettuce-4-6
▪︎flatbread-wheat (of your choice)
▪︎butter paper or napkin-4


METHOD

1.In a plate take plain Greek yogurt.

2.then add kashmiri red chilli powder.

3.add garlic paste or you can use crushed garlic.

4.then add Garam masala or Tandoori masala(spices) and crushed kasuri Meethi.

5.further add salt and lemon juice

6.and mix it properly.

7.then place paneer.

8.and marinate it for 1 hour.

9.now in a bowl add water.

10.add sugar and salt.

11.add bay leaf.

12.now add slice onions.

13.add tomato slices

14.then add cucumber, carrot, beetroot. Mix it and give a boil .

15.then heat oil in a pan.

16.place the marinated paneer.

17.cook it from both the sides nicely.

18.till it become crispy and black spots started to appear

19.now roast some seasme seeds in a pan for 2 mins.

20.then put the seeds in a blender with garlic pods. And grind it in a smooth paste and add little salt according to taste.

21.now cut the paneer in thin slices as shown below.

22.Now make flatbreads on a skillet like normal chapatis.

23.place it on a plate.

24.spread the white sauce.

25.add lettuce or cabbage leaf.

26.then place some paneer slices.

27.add pickled veggies.

28.now smear some white sauce again.

29.sprinkle some garam masala.(optional)

30.now roll it out or fold it in butter paper or napkin.

31.serve it immediately.

Enjoy this Veg Paneer Shawarma with mayo or green chutney. I hope you will try and love this.
