Healthy and Easy Breakfast of Semolina-Veggie Upma or Uppittu!!

Greetings!

Today I came up with easy simple and healthy breakfast recipe that is Upma. This dish is actually South indian dish and usually liked by all. So, this time try something new for your breakfast. This hot dish is full of flavours, nutrients and tastes so yummy that you often wanna cook this dish at your home for breakfast. You can make this Upma with veggies, peanuts, tomatoes or only curry leaves and lentils. There are many variations of making upma. It is also known as khara bath or rava bath. This upma is used for weightloss journey also. It is nutritious and loaded with veggies. So, let's see how to make this.

Ingredients-

¾ cup rava
2 tbspn ghee or clarified Butter.
½ mustard seeds.
3 to 4 curry leaves
Pinch of asofeodita
1 green chilies
½ cup finely chopped capsicum
½ cup carrot finely chopped
½ cup beans finely chopped.
½cup chopped potato.
½ cup chopped tomatoes.
1 cup water or as needed.
Salt according to taste
½ tbspn turmeric powder
½ spoon lemon juice
½ tbspn peanuts

METHOD

  1. Take a pan and dry roast Semolina on a low meduim flame untill crunchy and light. Make sure donot brown the Semolina.

2.now chop the veggies mentioned up.

3.heat ghee in a pan. when the ghee is hot then put mustard seeds, curry leaves, asofeodita, green chilies and peanuts.

4.now add chopped veggies.

5.add turmeric powder, blackpepper.

6.Add chopped tomatoes. Stir it and let the veggies cook soft.

7.after veggies are cooked. Add roasted suji and salt. Stir it.

8.now add water. Cover and cook for 5 min in low meduim flame.

9.quickly stir and mix very well. The rava will absorb the water and Semolina will get cooked. Then add fresh coriander leaves.

10.squeeze half lemon and stir it. Off the flame and upma is ready to serve.

11.serve it in a plate and have hot upma with chutney or have as it is.
