Uttar Pradesh special winter Dish-Matar Ka Nimona (Greem peas curry)

Matar ka Nimona!

Today I am sharing a recipe of Matar ka Nimona. It is very popular dish in Winters Of Uttar Pradesh,India. This is winter dish because in this time we will get fresh green peas and it taste best.Though you can use Frozen peas if green peas are unavailable. But the fresh winter peas are more tastier and flavourful.
This curry goes well with Rice/ roti or parantha.


INGREDIENTS-

Peas-2 cup
Onion-1cup
Potato-1cup
Garlic-5-6 pods
Coriander-½cup
Ginger-½inch
Oil- for cooking 3-4( tbspn)
Turmeric powder-½tspn
Redchili powder-½tspn
Salt-to the taste.
Cumin seeds-½tbspn
Bay leaf-1


METHOD

1.Heat oil in a pan

2.now add cumin seeds and chopped potatoes

3.fry the potatoes till they are cooked and brown in color.

4.they are cooked now.

5.transfer them in a plate.

6.now add oil in the same kadhai

7.add cumin seeds, bay leaf.

8.add chopped onions.

9.saute it for 2 mins.

10.now boil peas.

11.crush the peas in a blender or chop them nicely in a chopper.

12.now in a mixer grinder add coriander leaves, ginger, garlic and green chili. Make a paste.

13.now add this paste to onions.

14.mix it properly and add salt

15.Add turmeric powder, redchili powder.

16.then add crushed peas.

Mix it.

17.now add some water and coriander powder.

18.mix it again.

19.now add fried potatoes.

20.now mix it and cook it for 5 to 8 mins in medium flame.

21.then add garam masala.

22.add chat masala. Mix it. Adjust the water accordingly your wish.

23.add corinader leaves and off the flame.

24.its ready to eat now. Serve it with rice /parantha.
