Hi everyone!
My greetings

Today I am going to share the receipe of a spice mix powder, commonly known as Chhaat masala here in India. This powder is an important part of most of the street snacks in India. So without further delay let's jump to the list of ingredients.

Ingredients

2-3 handfuls of Dried mint leaves
200 gm Cumin seeds
50 gm Coriander seeds
250 gm Black salt
1 teaspoon Asafoetida
10 gm Black pepper
10-15 Cloves

Let's start making it

Dried mint leaves are the most important part of this powder as it is flavour of mint leaves that leaves it's magical effect in the dishes you make. Even after drying mint leaves keep their flavour intact. So just take 2-3 handfuls of fresh Mint leaves and put them in the Sun for 2-3 days and they will be dried soon. You may dry them in the shade too it will take a little more time. You have to just be sure that they are well dried and no moisture content is left in to them or they will contaminate the whole powder.

(In this pic, you may see my dried mint leaves)

Dry roast Cumin seeds, as they are more in quantity, it will ate ja little time to dry roast them. Keep them spinning with a spoon Or anything else, let them roast all the seeds equally and not to burn them. Keep the flame of gas low-medium. Transfer them to a plate as soon as they turn aromatic and their color changes to a little blackish. Let them cool.

This is Asafoetida, and it will be aromatic in a few seconds, transfer to the plate.

Do the same procedure with Black peppers, Cloves, and Coriander seeds.

Transfer everything in a big plate and let them cool completely before you start the process of grinding.
Now Put all the spices in the grinder with Mint leaves, Black salt and grind to make a fine powder.

Here your powder is ready. Transfer it to a air-tight container, you may store it easily for months. As, all the ingredients are dry roasted there is no fear of contamination. Just be sure to store it in an air-tight container. Small amounts you may keep transferring to your sprinkler.

Uses
As, I told it is a multipurpose powder, it can be used in most of your spicy snacks.
You can sprinkle it on your veg Or fruit salads too.
You can mix it in curd and enjoy the taste.
Sprinkle it on your fritters, and they will taste delicious.
I use it in making my green chutney too, for the Mint flavour as fresh Mint leaves are nit available all.
You can use it with Samosas, Pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and almost all the roasted delicacies. Just sprinkle it and feel the difference in the taste of your food. 😊

That's all for today.
Thank you everyone!
See you all again 😊

This is nice and well done! I love spices in my food and have a few in my kitchen cupboard. I buy most of my spices except for a few that I make myself because of work and other activities.
The process is simple. Getting the ingredients is another thing! 😄
Thanks for this enlightening post.
