Trump Is Now Using Straight-up Nazi Talk

We’ve all often wondered whether Donald Trump understands the historical import of what comes out of his mouth. He’s so ill-informed, so proudly ignorant, that it’s easy to think that when he hurls a historical insult, he just doesn’t know.
I feel pretty safe in saying that we can now stop giving him the benefit of that particular doubt. His use—twice; once on social media and then repeated in a speech—of the word ‘vermin’ to describe his political enemies cannot be an accident. That’s an unusual word choice. It’s not a smear that one just grabs out of the air. And it appears in history chiefly in one context, and one context only.

Autocrat rule: always blame your own people. Never yourself. See #Strongmen for how that works out. https://t.co/ipd2jdV958

Abbott to Sign Bill Allowing Him to Deport Migrants

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is expected to sign a bill that would make it a new state crime for entering Texas illegally and gives law enforcement the power to arrest and order migrants to leave the United States.
Democratic House members said the bill oversteps on the federal government’s powers and echoes Arizona’s immigration status provision which opponents dubbed the ‘show me your papers’ law. The law was mostly rejected by the US Supreme Court in 2012 when it upheld that the federal government sets immigration policy and laws.

Prosecutors Urge Court to Reinstate Trump Gag Order

Donald Trump’s renewed attacks on the family of special counsel Jack Smith and his repeated invective against likely witnesses in his Washington, D.C. criminal case warrant the urgent restoration of a gag order against him, prosecutors argued Tuesday.
Smith’s team urged a federal appeals court in Washington to reinstate the gag order — which a three-judge panel suspended earlier this month — amid Trump’s appeal of the restrictions imposed by U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan.

Georgia Prosecutor Moves to Seal Evidence

Donald Trump’s choice of the word “vermin” wasn’t merely some random “coincidence.”
It wasn’t “accidental” or “by mistake”.
It was extremely intentional and not at all surprising.

Trump Drops Effort to Move Hush Money Case

Former President Donald Trump is dropping the appeal of his effort to move his so-called hush money trial from New York state court to federal court.
The trial is slated to begin in New York City in March.
