Hace poco hice una reseña de la serie anime de Cowboy Bebop(https://peakd.com/hive-158489/@presidentx/resena-cowboy-bebop-review-cowboy-bebop), debido a que Netflix la puso en sus títulos por ver, esto servía como preludio al estreno de la adaptación a live action del conocido título. La serie fue desarrollada por Andre Nemec y escrita por Christopher Yost. La serie tiene 10 episodios con una duración aproximada por capítulo entre 40 a 60 minutos.

I recently reviewed the anime series of Cowboy Bebop(https://peakd.com/hive-158489/@presidentx/resena-cowboy-bebop-review-cowboy-bebop), due to Netflix putting it on their titles to watch, this served as a prelude to the release of the live action adaptation of the popular title. The series was developed by Andre Nemec and written by Christopher Yost. The series has 10 episodes with an approximate duration of 40 to 60 minutes per episode.

En un contexto futurista, Spike Spiegel y Jet Black, son tripulantes de la nave Bebop, se dedican a ser cazarrecompensas, intentando atrapar diversos fugitivos en diversas locaciones del Sistema Solar. A ellos se les sumará Faye Valentine, una chica con un problema de amnesia. Por otro lado, el pasado oscuro de Spike, le perseguirá poco a poco.

In a futuristic context, Spike Spiegel and Jet Black, crew members of the Bebop ship, are dedicated to being bounty hunters, trying to catch various fugitives in different locations of the Solar System. They are joined by Faye Valentine, a girl with an amnesia problem. On the other hand, Spike's dark past, will haunt him little by little.

Mi impresión general es que lograron realizar una serie aceptable pero como adaptación muy irregular, con altibajos. En general, se respeta en varios aspectos la trama original dando a cada episodio un caso autoconclusivo, pero a la vez desarrollan un caso amplio, profundizando en los personajes del pasado de Spike, como Vicious o Julia. En los personajes, fuera de Spike, los demás han tenido cambios variados, algunos yendo a peor.

My general impression is that they managed to make an acceptable series but as an adaptation very irregular, with ups and downs. In general, the original plot is respected in several aspects giving each episode a self-conclusive case, but at the same time they develop a general case, delving into the characters of Spike's past, such as Vicious or Julia. In the characters, outside of Spike, the others have had varied changes, some going for the worse.

Se nota que hubo un esfuerzo en la producción de esta serie, y al menos en muchos aspectos en los escenarios, lugares, naves, etc; el trabajo es bueno. La música, al mantener a Yoko Kanno detrás, logra mantener una calidad alta. La actuación es el aspecto que más problemas veo, sumado a un exagerado guion, generan escenas y momentos realmente intragables. Solo creo que John Cho(Spike) y Mustafa Shakir(Jet) hacen un trabajo aceptable a bueno.

It is noticeable that there was an effort in the production of this series, and at least in many aspects in the scenarios, locations, ships, etc; the work is good. The music, by keeping Yoko Kanno behind it, manages to maintain a high quality. The acting is the aspect that I see more problems, added to an exaggerated script, generate scenes and moments that are not believable. I only think that John Cho (Spike) and Mustafa Shakir (Jet) do an acceptable to good job.

Mencionado lo anterior, siento que a la serie le cuesta arrancar y es posiblemente entre el episodio 4 o 5 que se genera una dinámica entretenida. En mi caso, me gustaron algunas nuevas ideas, pero creo que pudieron desarrollarse mejor. Como adaptación, a mi parecer, es pésima con los personajes cambiando mucho de ellos, creando nuevos pasados e incluso personalidades. Tal vez lo más polémico sea el final y el epílogo, que en mi caso no me gustaron.

Having mentioned the above, I feel that the series has a hard time starting and it is possibly between episode 4 or 5 that it generates an entertaining dynamic. In my case, I liked some of the new ideas, but I think they could have been better developed. As an adaptation, in my opinion, it is lousy with the characters changing a lot of them, creating new pasts and even personalities. Perhaps the most controversial thing is the ending and the epilogue, which in my case I didn't like.

Ya cerrando, si solo piensan ver un Cowboy Bebop, vean el anime que es largamente superior; sin embargo, este título, como serie es suficientemente entretenida para pasar el rato.

In closing, if you only plan to watch one Cowboy Bebop, watch the anime, which is far superior; however, this title, as a series, is entertaining enough to pass the time.
