Hay muchas películas en las que un final puede cambiar totalmente la percepción que puedes tener del film, mejorando o empeorando tu percepción del mismo. Sin duda, este título nos deja un caso así. Estrenada a finales del año pasado, su directora es Jane Campion.

Phil y George son hermanos y unos acaudalados dueños de un rancho. Es después de la visita a un restaurante, que George acaba frecuentando a la dueña viuda del mismo. Esto llevará a una relación entre esa pareja, que tendrá la oposición de Phil, principalmente contra la viuda Rose. Por otro lado, el hijo de Rose llamado Peter, de una personalidad afeminada, tendrá que intentar sobrellevar los últimos acontecimientos.

Vamos comenzando alabando la buena actuación de Benedict Cumberbatch como Phil, pero principalmente, a mi parecer, la que realiza Kirsten Dunst como la viuda Rose, teniendo que cargar mucha de la parte emocional en el film.

Let's start by praising Benedict Cumberbatch's good performance as Phil, but mainly, in my opinion, the one given by Kirsten Dunst as the widow Rose, having to carry a lot of the emotional part in the film.

Sobre la trama, si bien me iba dejando con poco, principalmente por la lentitud con la que ocurren muchos eventos, y en que parecía no iba a ocurrir mucho, es cuando se llega al final y revelado un giro, que debes darle una revisión a lo visto anteriormente, dándote cuenta que has sido engañado, por como se presenta el drama.

About the plot, although it was leaving me with little, mainly because of the slowness with which many events occur, and it seemed that not much was going to happen, it is when you reach the end and a twist is revealed, that you must give a review to what you have seen before, realizing that you have been deceived, by how the drama is presented.

Dicho eso, el final si bien le agrega puntos a su calificación, no deje de tener una sensación que hubo mucho lentitud en como se contaba la historia, notándose una falta de dinamismo, aparte de una falta de intriga. En los aspectos técnicos, el escenario te envuelve, logrando generar una sensación de lejanía, de apartado del mundo.

That said, while the ending adds points to your rating, I still have a feeling that there was a lot of slowness in how the story was told, noting a lack of dynamism, apart from a lack of intrigue. In the technical aspects, the scenery surrounds you, generating a feeling of remoteness, of being separated from the world.

Finalizando, el filme finalmente me parece correcto a secas, no lo considero una maravilla, pero por el final, si te gustan los dramas western con su giro, este es un buen título por ver.

In the end, the film seems to me to be correct, I don't consider it a marvel, but for the ending, if you like western dramas with a twist, this is a good title to see.
