Mononoke es una palabra japonesa, que traducida significa “espíritu vengador”. La película usa ese término para nombrar a la princesa(“hime”) de un bosque mágico, que buscará vengar el daño que se le hace a la zona. Otra de las joyas de Ghibli. Fue estrenada en 1997, siendo director el reconocido Hayao Miyazaki.

Mononoke is a Japanese word, which translated means "avenging spirit". The film uses that term to name the princess ("hime") of a magical forest, who will seek to avenge the harm done to the area. Another of Ghibli's gems. It was released in 1997 and was directed by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki.

Ashitaka, el último príncipe de la oculta tribu Emishi, ha sufrido una maldición después de derrotar un jabalí endemoniado. Luego de pronosticarse su muerte si no descubre el origen de las marcas en su brazo, él con su alce Yakul, deberá buscar respuestas en el oeste. Es luego de encontrar la ciudad de hierro, y el origen de su problema, que deberá decidir cómo solucionar el conflicto entre la ciudad y la naturaleza que lo rodea; siendo esta última, comandada por una humana salvaje, la princesa Mononoke.

Ashitaka, the last prince of the hidden Emishi tribe, has suffered a curse after defeating a demonic boar. After his death is foretold if he does not discover the origin of the marks on his arm, he, with his elk Yakul, must seek answers in the west. It is after finding the iron city, and the origin of his problem, that he must decide how to solve the conflict between the city and the nature that surrounds him; the latter being commanded by a wild human, Princess Mononoke.

Comencemos diciendo que esta es una de las mejores películas de la casa productora, con eso digo bastante. Su trama poco a poco te va mostrando tanto personajes como un contexto realmente interesante; a su vez, al haber bandos con objetivos distintos, se mantiene la tensión necesaria para seguir pegado a la historia y su disolución final. Un punto llamativo, es el mundo mágico que muestra en el bosque, donde se encuentran diversos animales irreales con capacidad de comunicarse y otras habilidades.

Let's start by saying that this is one of the best films of the production house, with that I say enough. Its plot gradually shows you both characters and a really interesting context; at the same time, as there are sides with different objectives, the necessary tension is maintained to keep you glued to the story and its final dissolution. A striking point is the magical world shown in the forest, where there are several unreal animals with the ability to communicate and other abilities.

La animación es espectacular, no solo al mostrar lo mágico del lugar, si no por las diversas escenas de acción que hay en la cinta, de 10. Otros aspectos como las voces y el soundtrack son buenos. En esta película me cuesta buscarle puntos negativos, que posiblemente los tenga, pero a mi parecer, marginales.

The animation is spectacular, not only to show the magic of the place, but also for the various action scenes that are in the tape. Other aspects such as voices and soundtrack are good. It is hard for me to find negative points in this movie, which it may have, but in my opinion, marginal.

Esta película se la recomiendo a todo aquel que le guste la animación o historias mágicas. Es imperdible.

I recommend this movie to anyone who likes animation or magical stories. It is not to be missed.
