Living In Guilt Is Destructive, So Live Above It

Source

Life is a race and it is survival of the fittest, and in the process, we might have hurt others living a seed of guilt in our hearts.

Living in guilt is one of dangerous traits to a person's life because guilt is likened to a house that has many rooms, contending many tools inside them, and housing it we become vulnerable to all these tools, which can easily destroy us if we don't handle the situation or seek for help.

Guilt often time is described as a self-conscious emotion that involves negative evaluations of our self, feelings of distress, and feelings of failure. Guilt also lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, difficulty in concentrating, and social withdrawal. Guilt sometimes is important because it motivates us to repent; but left to fester, oftentimes it is also a deadly spiritual poison in our spirit.
Guilt brings emotional discomfort to us when we feel and believe that we were responsible for something that offended or hurt someone, it can be legitimate – mostly by mistake or out of provocation, leaving us with the feeling of regret for our words or actions, which mostly brings feelings of guilt resulting in worries, feelings of shame and anxiety.

Guilt is a load that weighs us down bringing the feeling of unworthiness, being paralyzed by the past, having unresolved issues, struggling to forgive ourselves, acting defensive and distant, and feeling afraid of trying again. To live a full life, we must let go of our past mistakes. Over time, we may also begin to develop a sense of inadequacy that makes it difficult for us to pursue our goals. We may feel that we don't deserve to move on and we may engage in behaviors designed to punish ourselves for our mistakes.

Living in guilt does not only affect our emotions, it also affects us physically inducing physical illness. The body is inter-connected, so when there is no soundness in the mind it affects the whole being as well physically, spiritually and mentally.

As said earlier guilt is very dangerous because it births things that destroy our lives, one of such is depression, poor self-esteem, self-harm and strained relationships.
Guilt most times is like an alarm in our mind, attempting to awaken us to reality.
Dwelling in guilt is unhealthy to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. This to maintain good mental health, it is important to acknowledge guilty feelings and work toward forgiving ourselves and if it is not properly dealt with, it can lead to extended periods of depression, hopelessness and self-pity, which may result in destroying our faith.

Living in guilt is destructive, and it only open chapters of regrets, shame, depression, self-pity etc which will not help in our growing process rather it only result in stagnation.
We are to live above our guilt we would not know how strong we are, until we overcome the guilt, first by forgiving ourselves and giving ourselves another chance.

Thank you for reading ♥️

You hit the nail with this post. There are many people that leave with guilt and this caused them the best part of their lives. There is no point duelling on something that can't be fixed. The best thing is to move on and find peace.

Absolutely, dwelling in guilt is dwelling in your past that will only prevent you from seeing the brighter side of life, simply because we have locked up ourselves with guilt.
Sincerely guilt is destructive.
