My daughter; my best friend

"Raya! Raya... Are you sure I am not going to die of hunger before you finish cooking?" Her mother called from the dining.

"Mom I can hear you," Raya replied as she walked out of the kitchen.

"Here is your food Mom," Raya said as she dropped a plate of rice and stew in front of her mother.

"Thanks, honey," her mother replied.
Some hours later, "Mom am going out" Raya said as she grabbed her bag on the couch in the sitting room.

"To where? If I may ask because the last time I checked you don't have any friends," her mom replied looking confused.

"Am going for a lesson Mom, so don't be scared. I still don't want any friends except you," she replied while she gave her Mom a hug before going out.

Raya slammed the door behind her and her Mom was still looking at her as if she wasn't coming back home, then she said, "But you should have friends at your age".

Raya's Mom grabbed her radio to listen to the news while she was sewing a hat with needle and thread.

Later in the day, Raya came back from the lesson
"Mom am home" she called from the entrance while her mother answered from the visitor's toilet "Welcome".

"What is she doing in the visitors toilet?" Raya asked herself while she went inside her room, she took her bath then came out to gist her Mom.

"Mom you won't believe next week is Halloween day and we are to bring Halloween costumes to the lesson, our teacher told us that will be our assignment" Raya was talking while she managed to stretch herself on the couch.

"Really? But how can a Halloween costume be an assignment? Raya's mother asked.

"I don't know either, maybe they just wanted us to do something different to celebrate the Halloween party since the school is on holiday," Raya said as she grabbed the TV remote control.

"Ok I should make you one then," her mother replied and they both watched a TV program.

The Halloween day came and Raya had forgotten meanwhile her mother had never forgotten, and she had prepared everything Raya needed for the party.

"Raya wake up," her mother called from the entrance.
"Arrrh Mom, am so weak this morning. Can I sleep a little bit more?" Raya asked as she wrapped herself up with her blanket.

"No, you can't, today is Halloween day and every student is awake preparing their costumes,? Her mother replied as she dragged the blanket from Raya's body. Raya rolled and fell on the ground and the sound of her body on the ground scared her mother off.

"OMG baby are you ok," her mother quickly asked.

"Am fine Mom," Raya replied with an angry face as she entered the bathroom.

Raya was ready to leave when her Mom stretched a bag to her, she collected it and went out without saying thank you.

"She can't even say thank you," her mother said with a smile on her face while she went back inside her room.

Everyone at the lesson began to show off their Halloween costume and they rated it among themselves before their teacher came in, while Raya never brought out her costume inside the bag.

Some minutes later, their teacher came in, they received lectures for some minutes he told them to bring out their costumes that they were going out on the street.

Meanwhile, the teacher was going to rate the costumes one by one since it was their assignment and they will be receiving marks on it.

"I don't even know what Mom did," Raya muttered as she opened the bag their teacher was rating the costume already, and when he got to Raya's turn, she said, "Sir can I not partake in this Halloween party street walk?" With a confused look.

"You have to, it's a must because it will be added to your marks at the end of the lesson, and also your school record" Mr. Roger replied.

Raya sighed, and every other student paid attention to what she wanted to bring out from her bag. Immediately Raya dragged out her Halloween mask and everyone shouted.
"What?" Raya asked everyone without looking at what she brought out.

"This looks scary," the girl beside her said
"Oh this is scary but beautiful,? Mr Roger said then he wrote something down in his book.

While everyone put their mask on Raya's mask was too scary for everyone that saw it and that pissed Raya off.

After the Halloween party, the school had resumed and everyone was eager to see what they scored for the Halloween costume.

Distance noise got Raya's attention to the noticed board and she was curious about what she scored as well, so she ran to check.

"Wow, what?" Raya shouted immediately she saw her mark, Raya scored more than everyone that did the Halloween costume which makes her happy.

Raya got home and hug her Mom immediately, and her Mom was curious about what made her got so emotional. "Raya! Is anything the matter?" Mother asked.

"Thanks Mom for always giving me the best, I got the highest score for the Halloween costume" Raya said with her eyes full of tears.

"Am happy I could do that for you" her mother replied and Raya started to gist her mother how scary the mask was at the Halloween party.

Aww, I really love the mom and daughter relationship, since the most important figure isn't around, I love the bond raya and her mom established. And that lead to her high score too in school. Beautiful. #dreemport.
